  1. i have a different view on this: if your air con filter reduces the pm2.5 level from eg. 50 µg/m3 to 40 µg/m3, the air is still unhealthy! my suggestion, use an air purifier to get to a pm2.5 level at least under 10 µg/m3. using the air con to clean a polluted air a little bit will not help your health / will not make a different!
  2. i wonder what the next step from khun tony will be... it seems he hasn't changed at all, he never has engouh, like 20 years ago, when he got away with so many things! knowing that he's played the system (the thai people) again, i think he should stay quiet and avoid any publicity. but i got the feeling this is not the end of the shameful play from khun tony and his sheeps ...
  3. I do not think many people believe it ... the unbelievable is how many people just do accept it ... the injustice ... the election steeling ... the draconic penalties for the normal people and the rich people get away with it ... but it seems that is a thai thing ...
  4. purchase a PM2.5 meter, and you'll see that your solution isn't effective against high polluted air at all. the only thing you achive is, your air conditioner will need to work harder and consume more electricity ...
  5. that is wishful thinking! that would mean all the political cards would have to be played new. ... shame, shame, shame... (i forgot, these people do not know any shame!)
  6. i was impressed by the interior quality of the deepal car, which even features an automatic sunshade (the suv only). however, i don't like the design of the taillights; they look odd to me. also, the performance figures aren't quite up to what i prefer to have ...
  7. some very good answers have already been given regarding air pollution / air purifier just some points from my personal perspective: - use a pm2.5 meter. air pollution often reaches unhealthy levels that are neither visible nor smellable! - please note that AQI and pm2.5 µg/m3 are two different units of measurement. many air purifiers have a built-in pm2.5 µg/m3 meter, while most apps and websites display the value of air pollution in AQI. - the size of the air purifier depends on several factors, such as the airtightness of your house/room, your location (north or south), whether it is a bedroom (quiet fan) or a workspace... for eg chiang mai, i would recommend a CADR (m3/h) that is at least 3 times higher than the room volume. you need to consider not only the square meters but also the room height, which results in cubic meters (m3). - it is important that replacement filters should be easily available. whether the filter is 99% effective or only 92%, in my opinion, is negligible. more important is not to use the air purifier only when the air quality is extremly poor! start to use the air purifier when the air starts to be unhealthy ... - about 9 years ago, i bought my first air purifier. since november, my 4 air purifiers have been in use depending on the air quality. when the air purifiers are on, my target value for the pm2.5 is to remain below 5 µg/m3. - for larger rooms where quick air purification and quiet operation are important, i recommend using 2 air purifiers. - inexpensive air purifiers also serve the purpose of cleaning the air. just hold the pm2.5 meter at the air outlet. but they are often loud and cheaply made. - expensive air purifiers come with many features that the average person rarely uses, unless they are allergic. - closing the windows does not reduce the PM2.5 level. no air conditioner can effectively reduce a high level of PM2.5, only air purifiers with HEPA filter are. if you'd like to take it a step further, consider installing a system with positive pressure ...
  8. " .... I think it silly to buy a new car because you think it will save you money, because nine times out of ten it will not ..." that might have been the reality 30 years ago, as obtaining independent and accurate information about cars was quite challenging. however, that's not the situation today. if someone like to save some money and buys the "wrong" car nowadays, the main fault lies with the buyers who didn't do their homework properly. or those who are not financially savvy!
  9. https://youtu.be/8dSFIRI_A38?si=DBaQt7OuFSGbR8v5 just do not push the transport mode botton ... !
  10. could it be you prefer "status quo"? if you like change and improve things, you have to start at one point or another! thanks to thaksin and the army there will be no change in the near future... that the thai army, corrupt and criminal politicians, like it the way it was and it is, we all got that. but that so many foreigners are acting the same, that is hard to understand...
  11. i do agree with you on that, the army and thaksin shuld be treated the same; everyone should be held accountable for their actions and punished in prison. however, thaksin's party made a deal with the army, so now everyone gets away with it. thailand is once again stuck in the same vicious cycle where the rich and powerful can act with impunity while ordinary citizens face draconian penalties. thailand's government and elite should be ashamed, but of yourse, they are so proud of themself because they could do it agian and got away with it again!
  12. If you like your health, it's important to wear a n95 mask / using an air purifier. the air quality has deteriorated in recent weeks, as it does every year this time around. investing in a pm2.5 meter and you will see how bad the air is in your home ... https://aqicn.org/country/thailand/
  13. i like to express my gratitude to the members of the forum who have electric vehicles (BEV) and/or solar energy and share their experiences (both positive and negative) with us. i appreciate the patience they have with which they repeatedly respond rationally to the same negative myths and claims. a big thank you to those members, please keep posting! everyone who owns an electric vehicle or solar panels is aware that not everything is 100% perfect. nobody claims to save the world climate solely through these measures. however, it is a fact that electric mobility and solar technology have advanced extremely far in recent years, and there is still much potential for further progress.
  14. that is very good advice. i did an echocardiogram a few months ago at the thai government hospital, and it cost 3'000 baht! they examined my heart, assessed all its valves, and also looked for any signs of an aneurysm.
  15. of course, it will be the same as the rice scheme under khun yingluck.. . thai's are very creative in finding ways to steal from any government funded project!
  16. according to some thai youtube videos, the avatr 11 (suv) is set to enter the thai market this year, while the avatr 12 might follow in 1 or 2 years. i wonder if the deepal dealer-network will also be used for avatr cars. more likely it will have its own independent service centers, possibly only in bangkok. this could be a dealbreaker for some potential customers ... https://www.avatr.com/en/11
  17. it would be nice if you could stay on the topic "Electric Vehicles in Thailand" ...
  18. to VocalNeal: that seems to be the first time we do agree on something ... thanks a lot, you made my (sun-)day
  19. i find it strange that so many people think the pm 2.5 air pollution in isaan isn't that bad. some personals perception and measurement data are two different things; personally, i trust the countless accessible measurement data more. anyone who takes air pollution seriously should get themselves a pm2.5 meter ...
  20. who does believe that? the air quality is bad as always at this time of the year (no decrease at all) ... and it will worsening in the next few weeks as it always did the last few years ...
  21. was it a boeing aircraft? why didn't they simple open a window ...?
  22. if you look just in thailand ... how many times have fire cost lives in nightclubs, pubs, discos, factories, homes and so on ... i wouldn't mind if thailand shuts down all low life entertainment venues because of the deadly fires ... imho, any entertainment venues in thailand are more of a (deadly) fire threat than an ev car ... but i am sure, you see that diffrently!
  23. but this time, we are all confident that the government will solve the problem ... the same (bs) as promised in the past years. there's always a great deal of talking, but no substantive actions. the burning has started and will continue as usual ... if there are no active measures and strict law enforcement, nothing will change, just as it hasn't in the past years.
