  1. Strictness of the law I guess depends as always the area you live. Our village is a religious village so they are stricter in village on Buddha holidays, King birthdays but you always can find a place that sells beers & spirits.
  2. On Buddhism holidays m & p shops and restaurants are told not to sell 30,000 baht fine if caught, restaurants in the village abid by it because of police in the village but outside further out the village I can buy and take a no see through bag. Don't know if there's a fine for the buyer.
  3. Talk about OCD met strange people like this with bikes. Cars the same as bikes you could build a custom car here using the small Mazda which looks much the same or the pre 1•5 type Yaris cars and make it faster.
  4. The thing is your IDP has written in English car and motorcycle which is what Thai DLT offices want if it is not written in English on your Canadian DL.
  5. Up to you I rarely have to ask about building related stuff. ???? The answer is in google I don't know how post a link on my phone hence my post.
  6. If you google it you will get your answers.
  7. Well these days I don't have to worry about it, I'm sure I read sometime back that Bkk bk was a safe bank.
  8. I thought it was the other way around that is I understood the banks in Thailand are backed up by the Thai Govt to safeguard people's money in bank accounts up to 1 mil.
  9. Yeah things have changed over the years. When I went for 5 year DL renewal I got a medical certificate in case they wanted but they didn't ask for it just did colour chart thing and they took photo paid money 15 mins got my renewed DL's. ????
  10. You can only get an IDP (international driving permit) in your home country if you contact your country DL issue dept I guess they could help you. A Canadian friend of mine drove in Thailand on his home DL with an IDP he never stayed move than 3 months at a time so never bothered getting a Thai DL. Don't know how long you intend to stay but you also do the motorcycle Thai DL test it's kids stuff.
  11. I use Bkk bk for 2 years had 800,000 in it and for 15 years has had 400,000 in it.
  12. Many are controlled by the one headed one eyed monster also. ????
  13. The only 4 wheel Supra I know of is one you would like, a one off custom made V12 twin turbo turning out close to a 1000 HP. ????????
  14. Don't believe you get some decent tyres then.
  15. You need an IDP going what you say about your Canadian DL you certainly would in our province or the alternative is doing the Thai DL test.
  16. Not exactly the one and only reason to live in Thailand when you can retired early and are in good health you can have a better life here than in UK. I would like my youngest son to retire early here, he like it here and it aware enough also everything is here for him already if he wants to.
  17. There lies one of the many problems in UK.
  18. Been no trouble for my uk family coming in Oct all Thai flights booked from UK and internal flights.
  19. There immigration policies are good they should have the same in UK.
  20. So from driving vehicles you list you should know what I'm trying to put across. In very heavy rain you slow down anyway that brings the weight of the vehicles wheel grip into play and also tells you whether it's true change time. ????
  21. All I can tell you is of my driving experiences in aquaplaining conditions on many occasions driving 2WD and 4WD cars. You do not float like a boat for a long time in aquaplaining conditions it doesn't sound like you have experienced the situation in a 4WD or AWD drive vehicle.
