  1. I've seen a lot of these one wheeled electric unicycles in my home country whizzing along at pretty fast speeds (35kph++) on multi use paths that have people on bicycles, roller blades, walking, and running. Most of these people are kitted out in a full face motorcycle type helmet, long sleeve jacket, gloves, knee pads, and elbow pads, along with gloves. Most seem to obey the most basic of rules and really don't cause any problems.
  2. She would need to go to a hospital ASAP after the alleged incident took place where they use a "rape kit" to collect samples of foreign bodily fluids which would then need to be matched through DNA with the suspect. No need to be deceased. They would also document any physical abuse through photographs taken.
  3. I remember when this happened back in the 90's. The local motorcycle driver became the "local hero" for unknowingly thwarting a potential bombing that could killed and injured many people.
  4. Also for citizens of certain countries that support Israel with billions of dollars in foreign aid and weapons.
  5. Looks like his stay in Thailand has just been extended. Includes accommodation and meals.
  6. Based on the article it might be a good idea to avoid places and establishments that cater to Israeli citizens.
  7. Is he really that broke for money that he has to return to the ring?
  8. It's a good thing that the Thai man didn't have friends with him, or a knife and/or gun on him, or we might be reading a much different story. FWIW, best not to "show a middle finger" to some random Thai male.
  9. Probably not Muslim as she is from Nakhon Sawan according to her Facebook page.
  10. It does sound like the legal system did want to make an example out of her. Life in a Swedish prison will be better than Thailand but it's still not great at the age of 20 and looking at a number of your prime years being locked up.
  11. I'm surprised that they named the shop. Usually they never identify the shop by name. Perhaps because it is foreign owned and managed?
  12. This is a pretty common practice in the US where the winner of a basketball game stays on the court. The next team waiting then takes the court to challenge the winner. Whoever wins that game stays on the court and then takes on the next team waiting. Perhaps there was a lot of trash talking going on between the two sides and maybe even after the match ended which led to the physical confrontation.
  13. I have driven a car when drunk and did it too many times. Luckily, nothing ever bad happened. That was when I was younger. Now, I don't drink & drive at all. If I've been out drinking, then I am using a taxi to get back home or a ride from a sober driver.
  14. She must think that she is just all that. Not really! I'm sure someone will fit the bill but it's not going to be me!
  15. Personally, I would just get the 60 day visa exempt on arrival and then extend it at your local immigration office for another 30 days. A lot easier than going through the Marriage or Retirement visa route.
  16. I've heard it said by more than a few, back in the day when LT was the thing, that the money you pay them is not for services rendered but to get them to leave in the morning.
  17. I always liked the Ford Cortina from many years ago.
  18. And what? I answered that on my original post on 7 October (page 1)
  19. Yes, I have!
  20. I believe he was talking about another bar, not the Candy Club.
  21. Well done Dr. Mark! This tourist was very lucky that there was a doctor nearby who responded to his cardiac event.
  22. I wonder who wrote the book for her?
  23. The drunk Indian tourist was lucky that it was just one punch and that he wasn't besieged upon by a group of Thai men beating and kicking the wholly crap out of him.
  24. Perhaps he should have found an island with a little less traffic on it. Although he was able to evade the police for almost 19 years so maybe he does know something about "laying low".
  25. I had two friends that did MA degrees at Thammasat University. That was probably 10-15 years ago.
