Suvarnabhumi Immigration Ensures 20-Min Wait or Less for Tourists

I think it is an ambitious plan and a great goal to aim for. In the 40 years that I have been coming and going from the Kingdom it has varied between 5 minutes (a rarity) to about 70 minutes. I for one, hope that they can achieve this goal. -
Well, technically yes as he isn't free to leave anywhere on his own accord. He is still in their custody.

Don't worry. Thaksin will find a way to be out of jail/prison very soon.

Although I agree with you, students questioning their teachers will probably not go down to well with the Thai hierarchy. It is so ingrained into Thai "culture" to not question those in the educational system (and elsewhere) that this would be very difficult to change. In looking at the World University rankings for 2023 as put out by The Times Higher Education I found that Chula was ranked highest for Thai universities. It was grouped somewhere between #801 - 1000. Mahidol was ranked at #4 for Thai universities and in the same band as Chula. Surprisingly, Thammasat was only #10 amongst Thai universities and was in the #1201-1500 band of universities. https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/2023/world-ranking#!/length/25/locations/THA/sort_by/rank/sort_order/asc/cols/stats

The Move Forward Party had a few policies that really upset a lot of older conservative Thais. This did not endear him to a significant number of the population. Can't really say much more than that on the subject if ya know what I mean.

China has a very large population and a lot of citizens that travel all over the world. Ok, I see why the Thai government would want to lure them to Thailand. Kazakstan? That one just boggles the mind as it's a small country of roughly 19-20 million. I do hope that this will be extended to most western nations.

Different strokes for different folks. Hope it works out for everyone. -
I own a 37sqm condo in Jomtien that I bought in 2006. I've never lived in it but used it as a weekend place when I would drive down to Pattaya from Bangkok. Started using it less and less so I began renting it out. Other than during Covid, it's been rented out almost all the time. It's a nice unit on a high floor. A larger refrigerator and a two burner built in cooker makes for a nice kitchen. The air flow is nice from the balcony and a slatted screen door that leads out to a wide hallway. A lot of shops on the ground floor as well as a very big swimming pool. My longest tenant was three years. He left at the beginning of Covid. Personally, I couldn't live in something like that for more than a month. I like my larger space and enjoy living in a house.

I always dressed nice when having to go to a Thai government office. Immigration, Labour, etc. The Thais a quite conservative in that way. Just play the game and you will get better results. -
Pattaya Condo Real Estate Agents
Hanuman2547 replied to hammered's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
I would go with one of the bigger agencies such as East Coast, Cornerstone, and Alan Bolton. Once you are interested in a particular development, I would check on what similar units that you like are being priced at. I would also think of going more mid-level. You'll be better off if you do. -

US English teacher arrested for sexual relation with 16 y/o student

Anyway you look at it, this teacher is in a world of legal trouble. Unless he can get a very good, and expensive lawyer, he might be spending a little more time in Thailand than he had planned.
