  1. The restaurants, hoteliers etc are usually issued with a notice by local BIB when their are no alcohol selling or serving days.

But this year no notices have been issued in this neck of the woods.

Most will not sell or serve alcohol on these days, but the Mamma and Pappa shops will. (Known in the UK as corner shops.)

I don't know where your neck of the woods is but notices were handed out in Pattaya yesterday.

  2. Have the majority of readers become more primitive?

News about groce violence like this seems to bring out the most medieval reactions of some readers. It's sad enough that a young girl has been mutilated and killed, let's not use this fact to express even more inhumane judgements just to vent your frustrations.

Where I said he too should be raped, murdered and tossed from a moving Train for the rape part I thinking the blunt end of a pineapple inserted deep into his anus would be just the ticket.

I retract the murder part, that is being too kind.... just toss him from the train with the pineapple still firmly lodged.

  3. Oh thanks for that stupid reply the army does not take tea money. I have an established store which is part of the hotel establishment. I also have my alcohol licences. So I will ask the question again, and only helpful replays please with constructive comments. I have a convience store inside a hotel, I would like to know if I could sell alcohol on the buddist holidays July 11, and 12..

Who holds the licences, the store or the hotel ?

If the Hotel then possibly you could sell uder the guesthouse clause (assuming you sell food). If it is the store then no you cannot legally sell..... same same 7/11 family marts etc etc.

  4. Whoever allowed a 13 year old girl to travel unaccompanied in Thailand must be mentally challenged. Poor kid. A law not allowing minors to travel alone - period - would be more appropriate. And a complete overhaul of staff background checks might help ... but in a country where the implementation of law and the lack of resolved cases means "employees" may not even have a record. Certainly though a check would have revealed this guy.

You do realise she was traveling with companions don't you.

Who is the one that is mentally challenged ?

  5. Never expected You Too.. But if one considers its usefulness to Market Traders, and Thai Working Folk, who they are designed for initially its a bloody big cost increase to do no more than my old Nissan , remember that back then there were no Ferangs bumping up the price, no Credit then less You didn't need it , and the New stuff i drive here aint worth I.Mill...So the Relevance is up to You. Want Yer Ford Sponge back, or a Easy 3 Rider. Let Me Have a Chunter in My Old Age.thumbsup.gif

Ive still got my Ford "sponge". it drives real nice.

Neither it or the newly released Nissan will last 27 years though so I give credit to the old nissan pickup for that.

  6. Cars may be a bit more expensive here, but running costs are rather cheap. Honda charges 300 baht an hour for service. My local garage in Oz charged 40 an hour over 20 years ago. I bet its double that now. Over the course of the cars life, including resale, it's much cheaper to run a car in Thailand than in a western economy.

the local garage in OZ will now be charging between $120.00 and $160.00 per hour now.... $30.00 of that goes to the actual mechanic.

  7. Maneged to get a couple of stainless steel egg cups perfect for my kids....

For future people looking for egg cups would you care to share the location of purchase.

  8. Cheap and fun although I easily tire of it, is when I am waiting for her indoors to finish shopping at the big stores and can have a serious look at the mix of wonderful and varied types of people that congregate there.

Only this morning as it happens I was waiting at Big C Pattaya upstairs in the cafe largely taken over by the French brigade at the range of beautiful girls, ladies and those of the third gender whilst having my banana shake.

I am the same when I am in the Airport main concourse waiting for a flight, just looking and wondering what are the back grounds of all these different folk and where do they come from.

The topic is about cheap fun in Thailand, well it doesn't come any cheaper than free does it but then again as I remember when I was a lad we had a great time in rag arsed trowsers and plimsolls kicking a footie about .

They do say the best things in life are free though but maybe that doesn't apply to Pattaya eh?

You were having your "what" in Big C ?

Just for you here is a clue.
