1. mate, it's you who needs a nanny.

'It's like talking to a 4 year old having a tantrum', "mate, it's you who needs a nanny." They are uncalled for insults that aren't warranted. Just because other people have a different point of view doesn't give you the right to be abusive. And it has been pointed out there is no law regarding bullbars in Thailand. So, if you have an axe to grind in Australia or England regarding bullbars.....go there and grind away!

To be fair, the redneck started it, from one of his earlier gems,

Quote;

"You are clearly a clueless sheep just like that eddie guy"

But you are a clueless sheep. You found a bandwagon you could jump on "ZOMG, think of the children, they will all be all killed at 5mph" and you jumped aboard with large amounts of butthurt.

I lol @ the redneck quip, kinda amusing considering I don't really get the whole 4x4 scene and off roading and bullbars and all that crap, but Iam not dumb enough to get all butthurt over something that is by your own admission legal.

2. All Trucks had Black Plates years ago.Greens a recent concession.I wouldnt cut the springs anyway. How do you sell it to someone who wants a truck for its intended purpose, and thats to carry loads.O.K if You replace them later and dont con someone.

I agree, don't cut the springs.

If you must stay with the leaf springs look at removing one of the main ones (that will give you a softer ride) and add a heavy helper spring (that will help when loaded).

also put in some decent poly bushes and shocks (koni's are nice and you can dial them into your desired end result).

For the EXO kits I have a vague recollection that the one I saw fitted to an Everest was something like Bt.40,000 this actually made a massive difference as the Vehicle was armoured (one of mine) and as part of our build we spec heavier duty springs and shocks due to the weight of the armour. The EXO kit had it driving like a sedan.

3. Cant You just But Out for once. Vigoes do a 2 Door and that may be of generall interest to other readers, regarding truck ride improvement.

I could I guess. But unlike yourself I try where I can to keep the thread on topic and as the OP was asking about a 4 door Vigo your remark about the green plates has all to do with the thread.

Saying that the green plate is because of how many doors/seats with belts, not what suspension it has in the back.

4. After having this happen three times, I cut down some paper envelopes to fit ATM and credit cards. Now, when I use an ATM I take the envelope out of my wallett, take the card out of the envelope and hold onto the envelope until the transaction is complete. Sometimes I catch myself walking away from the ATM with the empty envelope still in my hand. Many times, this has saved me from loosing cards.

I purchased a wallet, it acts just like your cut down paper envelope.

5. So, some college's opinion on bullbars..... wow.

This whole "Zomg, bullbars are killers and should be banned" debate has been ongoing in Australia for as long as I can recall and guess what, they are still allowed.

6. jpeg, I don't know how you inserted the salt-shaker emoticon into your post but it is definitely not part of the current selection you get to choose from by clicking on the smile.png icon in the toolbar at the top of the reply box.

I also don't see it available in the more limited selection in Thaivisa's Android app.

You have to use the right arrow on the emoticon list to go to the next set. I put it in the 2nd set rather than primary so members have to go looking for it. wink.png

<insert <deleted> emoticon> !!

7. I agree with the OP... It is a bit lame... The card should come out before the cash... When I forgot my card once I went to the bank and told them about it (it was the ATM outside thier location).. And they told me they did not have it and would have to issue a new one... I think it is a ploy by the bank to get a 100 baht for each new card...

Well generally cards here do not have your name on it so how could they identify any in the machine as yours ?

Also not as though they can just go unlock the machine and have a look for it either.

8. What ?

English Wilco, that is what is spoken here.

it seems your ability to recognise English on a par with your ability to recognise the dangers of bull-bars.

yeah I struggle wif dem big words. I understand the potential for danger with bullbars.

I also understand they will not maim and kill every man, woman and child that happens to walk within a 1km radius of one as well, unlike a few on here posting.

"they will not maim and kill every man, woman and child that happens to walk within a 1km radius of one"
-no-one said that - so I stand by my original argument; you are still dichotomising and clearly don't understand either what your read or the arguments put forward and are unable to put forward a coherent response.

You are clearly a clueless sheep just like that eddie guy.

EDIT. no idea why you were not qouted...... Thai visa might be run on software purchased "locally".

10. "Bullbars are dangerous! if you can't understand that, so are you!" Do I have to repeat the old sAYING about assumptions? Oh.....I do! 'When dealing with critics always remember this: Critics judge things based on what is outside of their content of understanding. '

I ride a pushie and scooters and I know if I get hit by anything doing 40kph+, on 4 wheels or more, I will be spending a long time in hospital or a little earn on the wife's mantel piece. At 5kph it probably gravel rash and hurt pride.

It seems you still have a lot to learn.

So, why don't you en-lighten all of us with your pool of knowledge. I am sure it won't take more than a paragraph.

"I ride a pushie and scooters and I know if I get hit by anything doing 40kph+, on 4 wheels or more, I will be spending a long time in hospital or a little earn on the wife's mantel piece."

No you don't know that, that's just 25mph, I've been riding bikes for 50yrs, including 350,000mls in 5yrs as a m/c courier in London. I've hit, and been hit, at much higher speeds than that and never even spent a night in hospital, car bonnets are amazingly pliant if you're wearing good gear.

What you can safely assume is, if you are hit by, or hit, totally non pliant things like bull bars at speeds of 25mph or more, you are going to break.

They should be banned worldwide, damaged vehicles are much less important than mangled, or dead bodies.

previously you claimed at 5mph or more there is a good chance of death with bullbar impact, now it is 25mph and you only be injured......

So which one is it, or is your bullbar phobia causing you to make up stories as you go along ?

11. I cant see you would be able to make even 20B on each phone Apple is pretty much the same price everywhere, any Thai in Thailand if they can afford 30,000 plus for a phone wont be buying it in an MBK stall.

I did manage to get my ipad2 $AU50 cheaper there when i bought in Thailand but that was due to currency's rapid movement up at the time.

They are selling on facebook for 50k for the 6 and 100k for the 6+

Just because somebody is asking that much doesn't mean there's somebody paying that much.

For that you could send your man-servant to HK and let him get some iPhones there, and come back, and still save some money. Just to say, the prices just don't make sense.

The usual once the grey market has settled is that the iPhones are sold here for a BHT 3,000 markup vs. HK. Very efficient grey market!

Meh. they are selling.

12. Just wondering about it....

Didnt know you still had to do the 90 days. The way i read it you only have to report once a year...guess I read it wrong.

you have to exit/enter the kingdom once per year. Whilst you are here it is 90 day reporting.

So what makes it Elite at 500,000 baht?

Sounds like a mugs card.

Or instead of coming across like a mug you could read post #15 by Paz which explains how the visa works.
