  1. Mates,

Planning to visit the LOS on a single entry 60 days tourist visa, which I then hope to extend by another 30 days, giving me a total of 90 days of stay. Is there a way to stay longer than these initial 90 days on a tourist visa but without leaving Thailand?.

Also, if I would fly in and out of the country say within the same day (as a sort of a visa run), would I receive another 30 days at BKK airport, or because this would be back-to-back with my obsolete 90 days visa they would not allow another 30 days?

    Cheers

  2. Mates,

I'm planning to visit BKK and was wondering if I can flag down a minivan on sukhumvit road, say around the outlet mall.

There seems to be an endless supply of them so waiting time should be minimal.

Do they go all the way to BKK? and if so what's the fare like?

    Cheers

  3. On another thread on TV, members praised the Pizza Company over Pizza Hut. Accordingly I've recently had the Pizza Company spaghetti with tomato/chilly sauce and it was definitely one of the worst spaghetti dishes I've ever had. Tasteless and felt like thai noodles mixed with tomato sauce straight out of a can. It might appeal to Thai diners taste but it had no resemblance to spaghetti dishes I've tasted elsewhere.

Following this horrific experience I will definitely won't be ordering from the Pizza Company.

  4. Mates, thanks for all the replies.

How is Pan Pan on the junction of Theprasit and Thappraya?

A while ago there was an Italian pizzeria in View Talay 1. Is it still there and if so how are their pizzas?

    Cheers

  5. I can't believe anyone has not suggested Bang Saray beach. If you are talking about a day trip, this would be my first choice, but not on a Thai holiday. It will be packed on those days, and tranquil the rest of the time. Great views, great restaurants. Living in Pattaya, I try to go there twice a month. Just beautiful

    Sounds interesting.

Is there a direct minivan Jomtien->Bang Saray, say, similar to the one which goes to Bangkok?

If it's a minivan from Sukhumvit road, how do you which one goes where? I don't recall ever seeing English signage on them.

    Cheers

  6. Mates,

Jomtien (and Pattaya to a greater extent) have become much more crowded with tourists of all sorts and it's kind of drifting away from what I prefer as relaxed spot to spend a vacation at.

So I'm looking for other locations, further south of Jomtien which would be much more laid back and not overcrowded with tourists, but would still offer the atmosphere of Pats/Jomtien, namley, some bars to relax, decent beaches etc.

Any spots you could suggests which are easily accessible with a minivan/bus and are within 1-2 hours from Jomtien?.

    Cheers

  7. Recently passing it by during the evening, it seemed like 90% or more of the rooms where unlit, although the condo seems finished and there's an office sales sign outside.

Anyone here knows what's the state of this project? is it really that vacant or have I just seen it on a bad day?

    Cheers

  8. Looking for suggestions on rooftop bars to enjoy afternoon sunsets and afterdark drinks.

Besides the bar at Hilton, there anything else worth visiting?

    Cheers

  9. Hi,

Every taxi in pattaya/jomtien I've enquired with said they don't use a meter, although many had a "Taxi Meter" plastered on the doors.

Is this a scam or have I just been unlucky?

Anyone knows where I can find/book a metered taxi here?

    Cheers
