If only it were that easy! It is massively destructive and the scars will be around for some considerable time but I fear trying to reverse it would create anarchy.
Don't reverse it. Let the fools who voted "Leave" live with the consequences of their decision.
Why would the EU want to negotiate with the UK now, while the UK is still a member ? If the EU has the intestinal fortitude to do nothing for just 180 more days, Britain will be on the outside looking in. After letting Britain stay outside for some suitable period ( perhaps 5 to 10 years), the EU could possibly consider talks if the UK asked very politely, and stood in the queue behind North Macedonia, Moldova, and whatever other banana republics might be in the queue by that time.

I am a Canadian citizen living in Thailand planning my first trip to Vietnam (Hanoi) for 5 days in mid Oct. I am sifting through a lot of murky, conflicting, online information, most of which does not indicate how old it is.
-It appears I will need either a) an advance visa from the Viet. Embassy in Bangkok. or, b) a "visa letter" from them or an online agency of some sort. which I will need to board the plane in Bangkok, and use to get my visa once I have arrived at Hanoi airport.
With reference to a) 5 day processing time ? cost - somewhere in the order of B 2200 ? anything else I need to know ?
With reference to b) How do I know that whoever I am dealing with online is legitimate? Stated costs seem to be somewhere in a range from B 650 - B 1000. Some sites have reference to an additional "Stamping fee"upon arrival in VN, somewhere in the range of B 800 - B 1000; is that correct ? I presume it is; that would bring the total cost inline with a) above.
I would particularly appreciate responses from Canadians, but will be grateful for all. Please: No rumours, speculation, or hearsay. If you don't know, or can't cite your source, don't reply. Please indicate the date of your experience.
I am also interested in hotel recommendations, in or very close to, the Old French Quarter; mid-range places, which are just expensive enough that they probably will accept a credit card; so B 700- 800/nt. Would go a little higher if I receive a favourable review from someone.

The expiry date is on the card. That is when you will pay next.

I don't quite know how to tell you this, but if it is efficiency you want, you have come to the wrong country. There are countries where the trains run on time, but this ain't one of them.

I suppose it makes them feel good to state this. But, I think everyone in the EU already knew and understood this. They are smart enough to know they won't be able to cherry pick !

Officially speaking, you live in one place. Immigration doesn't do bed checks to see where you are actually sleeping.

What city/province do you live in ?

The Roongreung bus to Jomtien (Line # 389) uses Highway7 (The Motorway). The closest it comes to Sriracha is about 10km, and to my knowledge, there is only very spotty van service on the road running along the reservoir to Bang Phra and Sriracha. By that I mean that Pattaya bound vans coming from Bangkok usually leave Hwy. 7 at the Khao Kieo exit and cross over to Highway 3 (Sukhumwit Road), but there is no guarantee that they will follow that route or that they will have a seat available.

I have rented, and eventually vacated, two condominiums where the electricity account was in he name of some previous owner, or tenant, I never knew which. Now I know why.

I am thankful I have never needed to use any of these numbers. It would be helpful if others could post any corrections or regional variations.

Look for a statement such as this in the passbook "No interest will be paid on any amount withdrawn before the maturity date." That tells you, and Immgration, that your money is not locked in.

Not possible.

Where do you live ? What is your visa status ?

If you go to the Bangkok sub-forum of Thailand Local Forums, there is a relevant topic currently running on page 3.

I can't recall the exact sights; I hope someone else will be along to help with that. But I suggest that you rent bicycles. The sights are much too far apart to walk, but the terrain is flat. And you won't be dependent on taxis.

The short answer to your question is "It doesn't matter". Even on days when it is working, it returns hundreds of results, 99 % of which have no relevance to your search. Attempting to "modify your search" (or whatever terminology it uses) would take far longer than putting a post in the relevant sub-forum.

To name only two, Central and The Mall have their own in-house credit cards. I wouldn't offer credit to anyone in Thailand. Would you?

RE: the post #2 from Pepper9187: The second part of this post refers to the short connection to the Tao Poon line (Purple Line. It runs north from Bang Sue, not south.

I have now done a bit of searching. The bus(es) appear to leave Suwannaphum at about 9 p.m., too early for you. Try this:
- dep. Morchit approx. 9 p.m, in a taxi to Morchit 2 bus terminal, arriving there about 10:30.
- allowing 45 min. searching/waiting time, , board a bus at about 11:15. There should be buses at this time.
- It is a slightly shorter trip than from Suwannaphum, so arrival time should be as indicated above.
-
Can I make a presumption that you don't need to be at your destination before about 9 a.m. on the Monday ? There are night buses leaving Suwanaphum Airport at around 11 p.m, if memory serves me. That would put you in Khon Kaen at about 5 a.m., and Udon at about 7 a.m. I have never used them myself. Perhaps someone who has can confirm the departure time(s).

You are changing the reason for extension, you are not getting a new visa, so in my view it's three months. I was in a similar situation myself, though the meat in my "sandwich" was a Non-B work visa. I imposed a three month seasoning period on myself, even though two might have been enough. I suppose you have the alternative of leaving Thailand and starting with a new visa, if you don't have enough money to wait three months.

Take #29 (or various others, including the A1, A2 & A3 airport buses), to Morchit BTS, then BTS to Phayathai Station, then switch to the Airport Link train to Suwannaphum. Allow about 75 min.
