  1. Deputy police chief says police give in for fear of attacks by third party

    The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Deputy Police Commissioner General Pol Gen Worapong Chiewpreecha said Tuesday that police gave in and stopped blocking protesters for fear of attacks by third-party assailants.

Worapong said police allowed protesters to enter the Metropolitan Police Bureau because some persons fired live bullets at police during the clashes throughout Monday night.

He said the clashes at the Orathai Bridge saw several cars and police vehicles burned down.

Police checked the area and found several guns, he said.

He said had police continued to fend off protesters, third-party assailants would have taken the chance to create a situation that might lead to high casualties.

Anyone here live cose to Phraram 9 hospital? The one coonnected to the hotel that Thaksin owns? If so does security appear to be beefed up?

  2. Why don't they have another election? Oh, wait...they can't win.

'Democracy' at its finest. Burma here we come...

Who can't win? If PTP are so sure of winning, why hasn't the new election already been announced?

I am not too verbal in this cesspool of Thai politics and really don't give a s**t about Thai politics but if PTP were so sure of their strength position they would have already held a referendum for the 'Amnesty" for the Dubai Dandy and would have avoided all this crap that is going on today. My guess is that TS and YL are two very worried souls today, this possibly is the last chance for the 'champion of democracy' to get the money back which he stole from the Thai taxpayer.

  3. A bit expensive but I bought a Garmin GDR-35 and the rear camera GBC-30 and both works a treat. Night and day videos are sharp. As said earlier, you get what you pay for.

An old Chinese proverb, "Good no cheap, cheap no good"

Hi GR, where did you purchase your setup? smile.png

Sorry for being so slow. I bought it direct from ESRI in Bangkok. Nice folks to deal with. If you need I can provide you with all details.

  4. I'm really ready to forgive Ms. Yingluck for this bill. I believed her when she said she had nothing to do with it, knew nothing about it, hadn't read it, please ask my Thaksin's Pheu Thai MPs.

Now for the relatives of 24 dead, truly amazing. Ms. Thida of the UDD has told us all her members want justice, not just the 7.5m Baht compensation. Did she loose touch with them? What's next, the application to the ICC to investigate withdrawn?

    rubl,

Who is the 'Captain' of this ship? If the ship runs aground would you blame the cook? Missy is the PM for God's sake.

    Love those !!!

I have connected GDR-30 to my GPS (front windshield) and the GDR35 to the back windshield.

I was thinking about also getting a GBC-30 but when I saw that when in split mode the recording quality is reduced (720p instead of 1080p), I didn't do it.

Also very important is that you have at least a Class 6 SDHC card.

    Price:

    GDR-35 - 7500 THB

    GDR-30 - 5500 THB

    2x 32 gb Class 10 Mini SDHC Card - 1650 THB each

    MJCM,

Yes it is in split screen on dual camera but quality seems not to suffer when downloaded and viewed, at least not to my eye.

  6. If I had family or friends that died this way, without any recourse ,

it would piss me off too !

The Government would just like this to be forgotten.

    regards Worgeordie

In case you hadn't read the OP it's the Army that wants this forgotten not the Government. If the Government wanted the episode forgotten they would not have chosen the 9th anniversary of Tak Bai to pay out more than 641million baht in compensation to the victims and their families.

fab4 Hush money comes to mind.

  7. The problem is that no one was able to investigate Thaksin while he was in power. Because of the coup, he could be investigated, and all these issues came up where he allegedly broke the law. Therefore, because of the coup, Thaksin has been charged with all these crimes. Without the coup, he would have never been investigated and charged.

    No coup. No charges.

Thaksin's case and conviction was not because he was one of the "political offenders involved in protests" since the coup.

Therefore his case and his conviction does not come under the scope of this reconciliation bill.

That is why I said I see no logical connection between his case and this bill. And no justification to "open the way" for Thaksin to return.

But if Thaksin does receive amnesty of course he has his eye on the bigger prize, the confiscated 46 Billion Thai Baht, plus interest of course.

Wasn't 42 billion used to pay off the National Debt?

Don't know what it was used for other than it was probably put into the national treasury. I don't think he will have any trouble getting his confiscated funds returned (with interest) as long as this government is in office.

  8. absolve all political offenders involved in protests since a 2006 coup and open the way for divisive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra to return from self-imposed exile.

I don't see a connection between the 'protests since the coup' and Thaksin's case.

Well, no logical one. However, TIT.

  9. Yingluck said yesterday that the MICT should not focus only on defending her from being defamed in cyberspace

Don't worry, Yingluck, television and radio are also ready for scrutinizing, by a different governmental entity, for any mean comments against you.

Yingluck Sues Thai Rath Cartoonist For Defamation

Meanwhile the media stranglehold gets tighter as the BP is reporting this morning that the Pheu Thai Party is requesting the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission to closely scrutinize the content of all television and radio programs for inappropriate remarks about the premier.

    Internet, television, radio = Check

    Personal telephone conversations are next.

Let me see.........Never been married but has children............

  10. As Mario said they will need a Non-B and work permit. If your company is a Thai registered company and these engineers are coming in to setup equipment that you have purchased and their services are part of your purchase agreement, I think that they can get visas and work permits under your company's umbrella since theire services are part of you purchase agreement. Your best bet is to contact a legal service and get their advice and/or help.

    Very good Thanks.
