That's fine if you have done research into other beliefs and have made an intellectual or experiential decision - Atheism is actually a belief too.

Rather sad that you call other people's spiritual beliefs, 'claptrap'.

Do you know that around 4 billion people in the world believe in reincarnation?

Somehow I feel you are very closed-minded and probably not open to discussion.

I think you should try to look at what it is in fact that you are scared of when looking at afterlife, you might be surprised.

What? You are the close mined one as you can't entertain the idea of no life after death.

I have no fear of the afterlife... There is none.

What do you fear about death being the end and no afterlife?

I find it rather sad that so many equate themselves to their bodies.

    Why?

It places greater importance on life, and as we only have one we make the most of it and try to enjoy it as much as we can.  We also appreciate people more as we know we will never see them again once their die.

We are also more genuine, if we help or be kind to people it is for the real reason, not because we want to convert people to our particular religion.

I think it's sadder to deprive yourself of nice things because a religion says they are sins...and waste time on a religious place or doing religions stuff.

Also not being emotionally mature enough to accept dead is dead. It's not a magical fairytale cloud land where billions of dead people live in eternal bliss and we can see our dead relatives or pets.

That's what happens to your body

Emm... Your body is you...... Once your brain is gone / dead, so are your thoughts and personality.

Just look at what happens to people who had bad strokes or brsi. Injuries... Their personality changes.

'You' is just how your brain is wired over the years you have lived.... Moulded by experiences and social interactions... And some genetic influence..

The rules for the UK are complicated and very different from other countries.  The dogs have to fly as cargo (not excess baggage), which is expensive. They cannot travel in the cabin. And they will be rejected for the tiniest error on the paperwork.

They can only travel on specific routes with specific airlines. Each route is licenced individually. So just because an airline can fly pets from City A to Gatwick, doesn't mean they can fly them from City B to Gatwick or from City A to Manchester. The list of licensed routes is on the gov website.

A lot of people avoid flying them into the UK by flying to Europe and then travelling to the UK via ferry or train. (That's what I would do if I had to take my dog back to the UK.)

If you don't want to do it yourself, look up Action For Dogs. They specialise in Thai-UK pet transport.

They re-home Thai dogs to the UK but also transport pet dogs at the same time. They occasionally have flights straight to the UK. However they have flights via Europe & ferry/train pretty much every month. Because they transport multiple dogs regularly, they have better prices than most pet transport services can offer.

They will help you with the paperwork as well.

You need to allow 6-12 months to get the paperwork together. They need to be chipped, vaccinated and have the rabies titer test. It has to be done in that order, and the vaccination record has to be completed in a specific way.

    Good luck!

Thank you. That is very helpful. I will look up that organisation.

So far they are chipped, vaccinated against rabies and the vet is ready to send the blood test off to rabies test place in Bangkok.

  5. Does anyone have experience or know of a good company / website that can tell me what is needed to take dogs to the UK from Thailand?

I have 2 small dogs and we are relocating back to the UK to live, and want to take the dogs baxk with us as we have had them for many years and are very attached to them.

I found UK government website about the proces, but it's so complicated and I can't get my head around it lol.

I just need a clear, concise list of the steps I need to complete.

Also need to know if any companies can help organise the travel, such as which airline to use etc.

    Thanks in advance.

That's terrible. How did it happen?

If I had a lump sum and was going for new property I think I'd be tempted to still use a bank mortgage, let them and their processing agent handle a lot of formalities at the land office, and if it goes belly up - somehow they manage to pull one on the bank then you're potentially out of your downpayment, better than losing it all. Of course there are early repayment fees in the first few years to consider, valuation fee, and sometimes a mortgage fee, and you'd have to consider how you can deploy your capital elsewhere to partially offset the interest rate payments.

We paid for it with money from UK and got all the transfer forms as proof money was from overseas.

Paid in full over several installments over one year. Had lawyer look over all the documentation and assure us contracts etc were all legit and clear.

After final payment we got a copy of shanote was told condo company was going to land office to get blue book for us. Was given a swipe card key to get into condo. That's when it all went wrong and we never got the blue book.

Kept giving excuses as the delays such as land office busy, they are doing the condos in batches, etc.

Then finally got photo copy of blue book.  But then covid happened and company was going under. The hotel chain that was part owner of the condo / hotel complex pulled out.

Then new company took over. Our lawyer involved again to find out what going on. Got a deal with new owners of the building to buy back our condo off us. Advised to agree as money from previous company gone and this was our only chance to get anything back.

New company started to pay us back monthly but then stopped. Excuses.. Low season, flooding, staff off sick with covid. Etc etc. Now no further payments to us.  They don't reply to calls or emails. Sent letter from layers saying we taking legal action. One more payment after that, then again all stopped.

So we have only documents to say we paid for the condo. A copy of shanote and copy of a random blue book cover.

We know they are letting out our room. We even had bought the furniture.  It's so annoying. We went down to Phuket a few times. Everyone does a runner. Excuses. Manager not it, gone away to meeting, call back, they will call us back, closed etc.

Becasue the key is a card they changed it so we can't get into the room. There was actually a Chinese family on hikdiay in it when we went!

It's been so stressful and upsetting.  I don't trust the lawyer to not just keep leading is along to get more money off us, all the while knowing we have no chance to win any case.  This has been going on several years now,

I bought most of my Thai properties of the plan.

I have not had any issues or regrets.

It's the luck of the draw.

We bought 2 condos. One in no problems at all and we are very happy with it.

The other... we have been conned similar to the man in the OP.  We now have a hotel renting out our condo and taking all the money whike we have no access to it and no title deeds.

These con people are very clever...that is how they can do these things.  It's easy to make comments when you have no personal experience.

And yes, we even had a lawyer look over everything and all the contracts signed... Makes no difference.

Very stressful and depressing. The lawyers and the con artists have ways to drag it out for ever.. All the time making money out of us.

Now we are going to just walk away.

You are so out of touch it is impossible to discuss anything with you.

Just try and find one =reference tht says geckos are "domesticated"

So following your logic, spiders are domesticated, mosquitoes are domesticated snakes are domesticated, birds are domesticated termites are domesticated - you'd make a great farmer!

Yes. If I were you I would not waste your time replying to this person. ????

5 sad emojis in response to my cat eating a few lizards, what is wrong with these people ? That is what cats do, he killed quite a few rats too  are you also going to cry about that?

No doubt these are the sort of people who have their cats declawed and  try to feed them vegan food !

Yeh.  When my dogs killed the neighbours kittens I also told them this is just what dogs do.

I told them to keep their cats in their own house if they cared about them so much and don't let them get into our property.

I am sure you would agree too if my dogs got your cat.

Oh. BTW, cats are one of the worst invasive species and are responsible for many native small animal soecies going extinct or endangered.  But, hey, I guess that just what cats do right, and cat owners should not worry about it.
