  1. oh, I started websites in 1994, and I can say until about 2005 it was fairly easy to rank in search engines, including Google when it started. of course, "page optimization" alone isn't enough, but websites that load fast, have their SEO optimized AND have good content tend to rank significantly higher than poorly made sites with good content. this is especially true of new websites. older sites that didn't keep up with technical standards but have good content benefit from a lot of goodwill at google. new websites that have good content but aren't optimized will have a hard time competing in google rankings with older, established sites.
  2. Thai stocks could be interesting to have a look at if trading ideas can be identified. Again "online community" is not what I'm looking for. and global ETF aren't interesting for position trading.
  3. whatever! I would say with over 30 golf courses, it's a golfer's paradise ???? the "club" would just be about exchanging information. no investment required or even requested! no social media, no YT no nothing, no "bitcoin advice". sadly, Bloomberg is not really usable, because their news aren't broad enough, not detailed enough, not filtered in the right way.
  4. amateurs cannot make websites that score high in google tests (page speed insights / lighthouse) anymore. especially mobile performance is difficult to achieve for any data-driven site with a bit of complexity. responsive design isn't anymore just about making the visual size of website content fit to mobile screens. today it's about serving specific image sizes and formats (webp), simplified JS/CSS payloads with a reduced number of dom elements to mobiles and tablets. caching has become crucial. and after that purely technical layer, comes the technical SEO layer. unless the CMS supports all the needed tools, that technical SEO is a very difficult task, especially in multilingual websites. it's no amateur job anymore.
  5. I don't want to go the online route. There is too much garbage to be found online, and it takes way too long to find out about how competent people are. I have difficulty finding the right information online, most is useless. Some reports I think have just the right level of detail for keeping informed about global markets are: https://www.troweprice.com/personal-investing/resources/insights/global-markets-weekly-update.html https://ihsmarkit.com/research-analysis/weekly-global-market-summary-highlights-november-29-2021.html (for example, but they are clearly too light on EMEA and commodities) I'd really like to keep it between a small group of people, probably have a CLOSED discussion group on facebook / line / whatsapp whatever and to regularly meet, talk about things, and bring tablets or laptops to show some graphs or data to the others. There is absolutely no point in being fed the usual technical analysis BS with their trend lines and resistances and whatever. taking a random position and setting a trailing stop works just as well.
  6. well, that's you ! I'm an expert, I studied financial products at a renowned graduate business school and I'm a former licensed derivatives and equities/bonds exchange trader DTB/SOFFEX/IBIS/FWB/SWX and global execution broker, head of desk. And I'm not retired, but working in another field than financial markets, and not following them as much as I would like to. But I would like to be able to pick up on more trends and trading ideas than I currently do. I want to do that to get extra money, but also because it's fun. I don't have the problem that I lose money when I invest, in fact my trading account has paid out more money than I paid in. My problem is that because of other distractions I don't follow the markets enough, but I think this could change with a small group of people to exchange information and ideas with around some beers. A small group of 3 to 6, 8 people max would be ideal, and yes, obviously it's not for everyone. But I thought maybe some likeminded people are reading this and would be interested in the same. I'm a position trader. My method is: - identify interesting situations (currently, some are: Turkey, inflation in USA/EU, China-USA tensions, Microchip shortage, ...) - evaluate the impact of these situations on markets - evaluate if their impact could lead to predictible trends / disruptions - formulate trading opportunities I'm open for trading any asset class, as long as it's liquid and freely traded. I's fairly easy to keep up to date on US and EU economic outlooks, interest rates and forex/oil prices because they turn up in mainstream news often enough, but I'm blind on industry/sector news, commodities, etc. because that requires to "look into things". Best to divide up the work within a group.
  7. I googled, but the search turned up no useful leads. It seems there is no such thing as a Pattaya investment club. Who would be interested in starting one? I imagine the main attraction would be monthly meetings (covid permitting) to discuss trading ideas. Maybe also designating people to watch specific things, such as commodities (or specific industries), forex (or specific pairs), etc. Does anyone know a good source for quality commentary on "global markets weekly report" that includes not only global stocks and bonds but also global commodities and forex ?
  8. more likely that the Benz driver submitted fake documents for her insurance or something along these lines.
  9. for farang, it's a private hospital.
  10. forget Pattaya City hospital, it's public only for people registered to the Thai healthcare system. private hospital pricing for all other people. the only public hospital I know of is Banglamung hospital. I think the next closest one is either Sriracha or Queen Sirikit in Sattahip.
  11. I don't rule out foreign companies. In fact, I am currently studying the offers of Aetna, Allianz, April, Cigna, MSH, Luma, CFE, etc. I just wanted to explore what's offered on the Thai side. That's my way of working when faced with making a decision, I try to get the full picture before making a choice. With the other thread that I started a couple of weeks ago and this one, I guess I now have the information I wanted about Thai health insurance: no one recommended a Thai insurance company.
  12. The one useful information in this thread is really what's missing: a recommendation for a good Thai health insurance company.
  13. I visited my Kbank branch tuesday and asked about K-Cyber + OTP. The lady told me K-Cyber is not being replaced, rather the new service is being added to their offer. K-Cyber service will not end after the new service is introduced.
  14. this paragraph is very vague. if the defendant was sentenced to pay 2.5 million, then the court should seize assets until their sale nets the awarded sum. but I have problems to understand the involvement of the insurance commission and "was told to pay".
  15. you should not run a website if you don't understand it. you must have someone run it for you. yes, it costs money.
  16. Paypal defrauded me of 500 EUR in 2003. I won't be sorry to see them burn.
  17. yes, I will do that for sure once I have narrowed down the offers. feels like a jungle and I have a blunt machete. have you heard any positive or negative feedback about "MSH International" ?
  18. if they want to keep bars shut, the "Leisure" aspect of Pattaya falls way short.
  19. I'm currently asking for many plans and quotes. It's absolutely unbelievable how many brokers and insurers do not provide detailed conditions.
  20. I wouldn't have expected anything else... I think the dude on the clapped out motorbike was the legit "messenger". Going to Congo, you know there is no way to come back, right?
