    A lot of the parking spaces on beach road are taken by motorcycles and cars for hire.Dozens of motorbikes parked on a permanent basis.

    When items are stolen in Thailand motorbikes are sold to 'chopshops' and broken down for spares. Other items are sold to pawn shops. The police never take action for receiving stolen goods to these places. This encourages theft as the thief has a ready cash market for stolen goods without questions or paperwork.
