Kiatnakin. bank offers one million baht guarantee on deposit. The only Thai bank to offer 100% protection is the GOVERNMENT SAVINGS BANK . Since inception billions have been deposited with the GSB .i am not suggesting Thai banks are unsafe but the post was about CURRENT bank guarantees.

would the GSB website be enough proof for you .I have verification in writing of the Guarantee also confirmation that internet banking is not available to foreign customers .Do your research.

I repeat the GSB is the only bank in Thailand open to foreign account holders that offers in writing a 100 % deposit guarantee. Do your research . The reason for my comment about the removal of the guarantee should there be a run on the banks is because of the banks attitude towards foreigners. For example although they are quite happy to accept your deposit they only allow Thai account holders to have internet banking not foreigners.

The requests by immigration are quite normal procedure . To transfer visa to a new passport you need a letter from the passport office .In the case of UK passport renewal the letter is included with the new passport. The fact you have to show 800,000 funds to transfer retirement extension to new passport is also a longstanding requirement .Even if you don't have the 800,000 or 400.000 after three months or never did i am sure the agent will provide the same service to illegally show funds as they did with the original extension. In a need of a medical opinion on how to proceed i went to Dr Morgan clinic unfortunately although the clinic opens 8.am the doctor was not due until 10.30 .I crossed the busy road and tried the Geriatric hospital no luck no urologist on duty today. In considerable discomfort i went back to the Ram . Quickly admitted to emergency and the catheter was replaced .New appointment 23rd.Now back in my room de stressed and pain free for now .What awaits i wonder.
