  1. Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) police arriving at the scene said the grenade landed at a pavement about 100 metres off the protesters.

EOD police said the firing was to intimidate protesters.

The police immediately ruled out bad aiming, since all Thais always hit what they aim for, it's genetic...

They also ruled out shooting under the influence, since Chalerm had a water(?)-tight alibi...

Strong winds were also not an issue, since weather controlling amulets are in use all over Thailand, making floods etc. a minor nuisance...

So, that leaves only a well-placed shot intended to frighten the protesters, couldn't agree more...

  2. Yingluck met Prayuth and Permanent Secretary for Defence Gen Nipat Thonglek at the auditorium room of the Air Force at 10:30 am

The meeting lasted for an hour and Prayuth returned to the Army headquarters at 1 pm.

I guess they had som tam together for the rest of the 90min...

Yingluck told the Army chief to complete the list and provide background of all transferred officers and submit them to Nipat, who will combine reshuffle lists of all the four armed forces.

I could have told him that in about 5min...

  3. This writer was convicted of election campaign irregularities in the USA representing the laundering and funneling of more than 700k dollars into the Democratic Party fund raising on behalf of CP group and others she "insisted" on bringing to the luncheons...she should know from first hand knowledge about corruption and how deeply rooted it is... and she should look in the mirror before she opens her mouth...

    Maybe so...

    Still true, everything she said

  4. "She also said that the UDD had always upheld the law while respecting the majoritys voices. The UDDs chairman also said that the group did not condone the use of violence to express political opinions."

Glad to see that there is a bigger liar than Yingluck.

But, like Yingluck, she's a week late with her obtuse denial of red shirt separatists.

    .

She had to wait for the think tank to come up with this:

The name was initially thought to stand for ‘People Democratic Republic Lanna’; however, Ms. Tida claimed that it in fact stood for ‘Lanna Assembly of Democracy’

  5. "Ms. Arphon Sarakham is a well respected pillar of the community. She has chaired numerous charitable organizations and improved the lives of every single constituent in her province. She is considered a saint with well documented spiritual powers, a healer of the sick, a feeder of the poor and a liberator of the oppressed. She is capable of single handedly balancing many roses at the same time. She will make a fine senator and is exactly what Udon Thani needs.

I find it odd that there are on this forum so many middle aged, beer bellied posters who just denigrate a strong and secure Thai woman from the anonymity of their keyboards."

Please, you all, just forget what I wrote above...I woke up still in a nightmare of having become the geriatrickid...

It's even more odd how you can pronounce with certainty that all TVF posters are middle aged and beer bellied. You have no clue!

  6. You could go to Ancient Siam. A huge park just outside BKK, BTS to Bearing and then taxi ~45min, opens at 9am, 500bt.

It's a park in the shape of Thailand featuring the country's most important monuments at the appropriate geographic locations. You can spend all day, the entry includes the use of a bicycle for the day if you wish. Go early, it get's hot. Google 'Muang Boran' for more info.

  7. just give her an honorary doctor title and call it a day...

looking at the picture, did she eat the missing rice?

Now that was a low blow.tongue.png

Does any one know any thing about what she has done.

I figured she would be in the politics up to her neck but there was no word about her actions.

so far most of what I have seen here is really nonsense. For all we really know she may have been very active in helping women.

She just has the bad luck to be in a clan that has a very unsavory reputation. Don't know that much about her she might be a good apple in a barrel full of bad ones for all I know and it seems like most of the posters here know about the same as I do.sad.png

Yaowares Shinawatra, was President of the National Council of Women of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen. She was active in the launch of several initiatives to improve the position of women in Thai society.

She has worked on behalf of women's rights and the opening up of opportunity for women for about 25 years. She was not involved in politics until Thaksin was forced into exile and the family came under attack. It is interesting that few of Thaksin's 9 siblings were interested in politics on a national scale. The Shinawatra family was a trendsetter when it came to women expressing themselves. Sister Yaowalak (RIP) was the first woman mayor of Chiang Mai and Yingluck is the first PM. All of the Shinawatra women have been independent and successful in their own right.

I find it odd that the denigrating and misogynistic comments in this thread are being voiced by middle aged men, most of whom probably have a few failed marriages or abandoned families to show for their time on earth. It is also odd that the males calling Yaowares a cow etc. are most likely morbidly obese themselves. I suppose one should laugh at such people, but really it does explain why they have a sorry track record with educated secure women. Perhaps there are better candidates than Yaowares, but considering the fear and resentment many of the respondents on this thread have for women, I don't think those males are in a position to render judgement.

You forgot to mention she is an expert in tic-tac-toe and plays a mean air guitar...and being that you are Dr. (honorary) Thaksin's adopted geriatric kid, she is also your auntie.
