  1. She dismissed speculation that her government was broke and was unable to pay farmers.

"On the contrary, all members of my government have amassed fortunes and continue to prosper nicely."

However, she did not specify the time for the payment, saying rice payments were being delayed by legal limitations and processing

, as opposed to bribes and graft payments which are being paid on schedule.

She also dismissed report that her government was broke and also that she refused to meet farmers.

"I am not refusing to meet farmers, I just have no time, and they have no manners."

Instead, she said, she has directed relevant ministers to clarify the farmers as they have all information and know better.

"I don't know anything about this, because I am just the rice woman chair, uhm...director of rice affairs, uhm...cheer leader of all things rice...I guess."

  2. According to Lt. Gen. Paradon, he has been keeping Mr. Suthep Thaugsuban under surveillance as well as mulling over the plan to arrest him.

What wouldn't I give to see this Lieutenant General mulling things over:

I can just picture it, him in the command tent, surrounded by aides, mulling away...and in stumbles Chalerm, flask in hand, noisily demanding something or other and in doing so forever destroying the precious thought process being mulled over...mai pen rai

  3. He said that these banks have gained understandings of the scheme

I knew it all along: the rice scheme was misunderstood. It got unrelenting parental abuse from birth and the neighbors never saw anything, even if there was a report, the authorities covered it up because of the scandal. No wonder the rice scheme turned out the way it did!

Now, Mr. Caretaking Finance Minister, would you be so kind as to share with the public exactly what the gained understandings of the scheme were, that changed "many banks' minds"? Because frankly I still can't see what would be profitable in the scheme for these banks to become interested suddenly...oh, oh, I think it dawned on me...the scheme does not have to be profitable for an institution, just for individuals...also explains your smirk, you bad boy...

  4. Thailand needs this, Thailand needs that. Another "master plan" designed to fix a part of Thai society, piecemeal. It's gonna cost time and money, both of which Thailand doesn't have, and will achieve nothing in the end. it's just a way for some folks to look good and be "involved".

Tabula rasa, a clean slate, everything has to be fixed at the same time: Culture, Society, Politics, Legal System, Law enforcement, because all of this is interdependent and "fixing" a part of a part won't work on its own.

  5. When oh when will the shinamafia realise their game is over? Soon it will be time for them to explain their doings in the courts.

This image was taken 2 weeks ago when Thaksin was in Singapore. He doesn't look like a winner IMO. I hope he realizes that too and stops creating a culture of fear.

I wonder how he injured his right-hand ?

Repetitive-strain injury, from shaking-hands with his poor Thai rice-farming supporters, would seem unlikely.

Or maybe his hand got caught in the till? wink.png

    ...nope, he's just a <deleted>...

  6. he said the ministry had produced a handbook "Do's and Don'ts According to Thai Culture"

meanwhile the UN had produced a handbook "Do's and Don'ts According to the World", there is only one single entry:

"don't do Thai on the rest of us"

What Thailand really needs is a handbook for "common sense" and "how to deal with the rest of the world without making a complete idiot of yourself"

I think you will find most of the reasonable proverbs contained in a well read book.

"Do not do to others what would anger you if done to you by others.

Its quite a widely printed and read book AMD covers all sorts of social conventions and some pretty clever tales to educate people about how to conduct themselves to make society quiet and peaceful.

I like this one about hypocrisy.

You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brothers eye

Can't think what its called. Trust us, our corruption is less than the other guys corruption. What a politocal plan that is.

"do onto others whatever you want and then run away, or pay a 500bt fine"
