What agent can (could) do to open an account for the third person not being there during so-called "opening procedure"? The branch that allows something like this is in very-very deep pool of <deleted>! Any inspection will follow mass closures of such accounts w/o BS and niceties. "No Tourists" regulations was enforced in April'23. If an agent can open an account w/o presence at the Bank why won't he open 10 accounts using "patient's" credentials and sell them to some scammers?

Jokes aside, but I met a dude at his middle 20s, he met his very pretty GF online, flew to BKK and they are living happy for 3-4 years (my guess). Nice bloke, unfortunately he dropped everything in AU and works as teecha Jay, but yes. Magic is happening sometimes.

P2P is not an "exchange transaction". Like I buy something from the poster at AN doesn't make it as "I bought at AN" You'd transferred money to some bank account that might me on the "watch list". Good for you! Now you're on that list. And that is not "private list" - it is being shared within Thai banks security systems. The only right thing to do is to close that account asap. Lawyer? Are you going to sue the Thai bank? FYI: You might financed some terrorist group or launder some bloody money. You'll never know.

Over last 3 decades I haven't met any successful case of PR for working more than 3 years. Probably due to the types of Co.Ltd. But at least 5 guys tried hard to get it and they all failed. 2 guys paid <deleted> load of money to "agents". Failed sama-same. However one old chap from UK got it (I think he didn't even sweat) with endorsement from KMUTT. Ph.D

Arrogance vanished after third year in TH. I found myself deaf and dumb ding-dong who made not a slightest effort to communicate with locals. Seriously Thai is not that difficult to learn, just need good/experienced teacher and home work. Few language schools in BKK are taking learning thai very seriously. Well, I don't have much practice with written thai, but I do my best to communicate with locals in thai.

Yep. Just some puny work as import-export managers at agro industry, construction, food and some precious stones and jewelry. Not many, right? Our village neighbor's son doing some useless activity with fertilizers from RU, young man get paid about 5K/month + social + bonuses. Tourism is for bored housewives or hobby for retired extraverts.
