Opening full scale consulate, not honorary section. While flying from Jakarta. Makes perfect sense. Also to meet with group of Russian diaspora / community to discuss forms of support and cooperation with MFA. What's so sinister about routine visit?

my 50cents: and should match location and description according your WP. Teacher from (lets say) BBS at Huay Kwang forbidden to teach (say) at Samut Prakan, sysadmin from the same place can't touch anything IT at Pattaya and so on. Not even teach IT at the same place. Very strict and impossible to argue about.

US$2.8Bn worth of Thai durian exported to China in four months
NativeBob replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
even at $5/kg (which is way too high for export) it is still 5 million tones. Sure-sure ) Why not say $25.8 trillions? It doesn't matter as long as it is under FTA. -
Russian man dies after jump from pagoda at Chalong Temple
NativeBob replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
He didn't climb on top. There's pass to get to that "patio", nothing special. Nope, he didn't jump. He was assisted by "rescue" workers who had no any "rescue" background. For 4 hours he didn't jump, but when "rescue team" approached... Nope, his "friends" did not say that. It was local official woman who said that "his friends blah blah .... high". So the whole story is just a bunch of rumors and insinuations. PS: don't really care, just an example of modern journalism. -
I've heard there are interesting people with so called "Black Box" that download almost everything of particular genre non-stop. I mean like massive download. that decided what to watch, what to keep and what to delete.

I've been checked only once and that was some "under cover policeman" with fake ID he flipped shortly in front of me. I think it was some 2005-ish? some areas of Bangkok were/are raided regularly, indeed. But even that areas police never insisted on original passport. I've seen apartments with those copies attached to the doors - so police won't bother banging, talking etc. I think the good solution from carrying original document is color copy and hires scan on you phone. black and white is so out of fashion nowadays.

Just quick question reg. non-thai sellers at JJ: At the pet section there are bunch of shops run by some ugly Middle Asian men. For decades! Are they khun thai? I don't think so! However running small biz at JJ can be quite profitable for some, but there's a lot of "politics" to take care. My friend used to sell singing birds there

Nasty fever. Had it twice over 5 years. No antibodies were developed, funny huh? Amazing how taste changes: regular water tasted like sewage, beer was the worst. Insomnia etc. Nasty.

Why you should never leave a negative hotel review in Thailand
NativeBob replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Always leave review. If it's good place I'm happy to share it. If it is not - they should not even open it. Don't care: hotel, service center or hospital. If they can't handle reviews then pull their shop from google maps. -

Overstay and Western Union
NativeBob replied to hsoa's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It's completely up to your karmic luck. Some dumb <deleted> might browse through your passport pages, but generally not. I used to know man who changed his debit card in Bangkok Bank without showing his passport (he was on millennial overstay: entered LOS before XXI century and never left). It's pure luck or rather being unfortunate loser. -

The "guessing game" continues: he didn't pay for his booze; he refused to pay for booze he didn't order; he'd been cheated; he insulted the owner; he said something about guard's mother; he violated waitress's private parts; he said something about Putin while the owner was Russian oily-garkh; the owner was instead Ukrainian relative to Babulinski; the owner was %whoever% yet he personally hates Russians; that was a gay go-go and ______________ (use your imagination). But the actual story is simple: tourist got beaten by group of thai men. No matters what race, ethnicity or citizenship of the victim. Even ____________ (use your imagination again).

Well, if he will play his cards right he would see something not less than $10K in compensations. It will take time, yes, but at the end the judge will be on his side. It is amazing how some people think that there's no law and they are allowed to "punish" on their own. PS: Unless some A--hole will scare him and tell that the best thing to do is "run-run-reu-reu". ^^^ so-called "volunteer".

Thailand remains in Tier 2 on latest US Trafficking in Persons report
NativeBob replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Exactly, story of my life. -
Lets make this story clear: There are so-called "trading websites" as well as casinos and alike. To participate khun thai got to deposit money somewhere somehow, right? For that purpose proprietors of such businesses used hundreds of bank accounts - to facilitate transactions. So unlucky "gamblers" decided to do a cute trick: after losing their funds they demanded "refund". And this couple was stupid enough to give their ID or Bank accounts to owners of those "funny" sites. [I heard that its about THB1.000 per account and some 0.1% per transaction]
