  1. Wife bought a condo late last year. We were there for a few weeks this year. The sink in the master bedroom developed a leak. I went to the office to see if the condo maintenance would fix it. An appointment time was set up for maintenance personnel to go to the our condo. We were told, be sure to lock up or take valuables out of the condo, if you will not be there when the maintenance personnel enters the condo! This was from the condominium management office cautioning us about their own employees!
  2. Too many puns in one post Hertz! You should try alternating them in other posts.
  3. Access denied Error 14 tna.mcot.net 2023-09-10 16:05:59 UTC What happened? This request was blocked by our security service
  4. This might not be her issue. I had problems breathing through my nose for years. Not a problem anymore. An EENT doctor said I had a sinus infection, prescribe an antibiotic and a few days later, I could breath easy through my nose.
  5. Off topic of Thailand, in the U.S. of A. I saw the aftermath of car fires yesterday. A car between two others caught fire. All three totaled. One fire truck, on the way to the fire, was hit by another car, and the driver fled the scene in his car!
  6. I remember predictions, from the past, of the world running out of fossil fuels in 10 or 20 years from the time the predictions were made. I think that 10 years have passed from the time fossil fuels were predicted to be depleted.
  7. If it is the GOP keeping people stupid, then why is it that it the democrats who run the education system almost everywhere in the U.S. of A., are turning out graduates with a substandard education? Family here in the U.S. of A. has friends who put their daughter through private school up until they could not afford it (I think one or both parents were off work due to democrat forced covid layoffs). Their daughter started 8th grade last school year (2022) at the nearby high school. Out of about 25,000 high schools in the U.S. of A., this is supposed to be a high school that is in the top 300. The daughter was complaining to her mom that everything taught in her 8th grade classes, she had already learned in her 5th and 6th grade classes at the private school! When mom asked why she didn't have any homework, daughter said she completed her homework assignments in class. Daughter was getting the highest scores for school work in her classes.
  8. Alcohol related violence again.
  9. My wife is Thai, but reads, writes, and speaks English. She told me about a time that she met her niece in the Chatuchak market. I forget what the wife told me was on the niece's shirt, but it was a obscene saying relating to sex. Wife asked, do you know what that saying means? Niece says no. Wife translates saying into Thai. Niece is mortified and promptly removes the shirt and clad only in a brassier and long pants, goes to the nearest clothing seller, and buys a new shirt, then throws the one with the obscene saying away. Apparently niece was less embarrassed walking around with just brassier on top than she was about the obscene English saying written on her shirt, once she understood what it mean!
  10. Really? I dress like a preppy? I don't even know what a preppy is! I do like those LL Bean no iron shirts though, even if the shirt pocket is to small.
  11. Maybe he voted for biden!
  12. Or grandparents. (off topic post in progress) My grandmother made me go to the switch tree (what I and the siblings called it) to choose a switch for her to use on us when we were stupid. It was a daunting task! We had to judge the level of anger grandma had then choose the appropriate size switch. Too small a switch and grandma would be even more angry. She would then get a bigger switch than she would have accepted before. Who was my grandma? She was 7 years old when the U.S. of A. celebrated the year 1900. She grew up in the backwoods of Louisiana. She birthed 11 children and 6 of them died before they were 4 years old! Only one child is still living and is almost 100 years old. Grandma also hated the klan. Came near killing one who backtalked her in her kitchen and then he threatened to beat her. A 12 gauge shotgun convinced him that her commandment of "get the hell off my property" was a commandment that was wise to follow!
  13. Damn dirty Americans! Wait ... I'm American! Never mind!
  14. I can bear(ly) take some of these posts!
  15. I don't remember where or who, but someplace I was at, the government or police instituted a regulation or law that banned tow trucks from appearing on scene to tow a vehicle, unless they were called either by the towee or the police. As there were violent altercations between the responding tow truck employees. Or, it could have been the U.S. Coast Guard that requires towing vessels to only appear on scene to tow a boat, if called. ( As there were violent altercations between the responding tow boat employees. )
  16. Ah so. Right you are. Here, let me present you with token of responsibility. It is what I used to show, when I was on facebook. Now excuse me while I go slap my opera dictionary for not catching that.
  17. Well, if someone keeps telling you the same thing every time, then I can understand that. If only putting someone on ignore, would keep them from repeating the same thing over and over again!
  18. I lied to those that violated laws, which I was charged to investigate. Some of those people ended up in prison, because they put other peoples lives in danger, whose job it was to save lives. Most of my work involved safety of life and property issues. There were many times when I would tell someone, or some business, you need to fix this. Next time I will have to write you up for a violation of fine. The next time I visited, they were good. Pissed the boss off because he looked good when there were multiple violations and fines issued from his office. As to the "so called intelligence departments", most of those work in the various intelligence agencies, never have anything to do with the public. Their jobs are either to collect the intelligence, or to keep the cogs and wheels turning so that others can do so. It's the 1% or less (I have no clue of actual numbers) who the public see that are the ones that lie to the public. Like a large number of "ex" intelligence personnel that were in leader ship positions, that lied to the public a few years ago! And politicians, like, whose name I do not recall! And there are those employees that don't lie, to the public, because there is no reason for them to do so, even when they have contact with them. Painting everyone with a broad brush, does not present a good argument.
  19. Might big nok mean that he has 80% of the posters on ignore and so does not see their comments? If true, then he has pretty big blinders on. be wearing blinders idiom US (UK be wearing blinkers) Add to word list to be able only to see things one way and unwilling or unable to consider other possibilities
  20. My niece. I had taken a niece and nephew out to eat. When I left the table to visit the men's restroom, I said, order anything you want. On returning from the men's room about 5 minutes later, there was a variety of food that covered the table. Nephew had ordered one dish, niece ordered everything else. 1225 baht worth of food. I still have not figured out how she was able to eat all that food!!! Food for nephew and I cost less than 100 baht.
  21. I didn't do it! Nobody saw me! I wasn't there! What video?
  22. I knew a couple of people that worked in Ethiopia for a year or so. It was a secret electronic intelligence collection base. I am not sure who the primary target was. That was highly classified. Sadly, I forget the stories they told me about their time outside the compound. Too much of the evil weed I guess.
  23. Not many people, other than government and military carry a select fire assault rifle around. Especially in public!
  24. I can save more money using the mileage points to fly. At 3% I would only get between $1800.00 to $2200.00 back from the credit card company. Using my mileage points to fly, I get a ticket for a round trip business class ticket to Thailand, minus the less than $200.00 in fees. The last time my wife bought a round trip ticket to Thailand, she paid almost $10,000.00!!
