German Tourist's Fatal Fall at Pattaya Hotel Shocks Visitors
radiochaser replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
I am 6 foot 2 inches (187.96 cm), barefoot, up to 6 foot 3.5 inches tall depending on footwear, and I have acrophobia. I have rarely had any issue with a balcony railing in Thailand and I feel/felt safe from falling when on the balconies. The only exception I can remember was the railing of a room balcony at a hotel in Chiang Mai. It was a wooden balcony and when I checked it, it wobbled in and out so much, I thought it could fall off with a strong wind. The accessible balconies I have been on in Thailand are all waist high, which is about where 1 meter or higher. I have been on balconies in the U.S. of A.. that had lower railings, one measured at 30 inches/76.2 cm, which may be below building code requirements. The railings of the two balconies at my condo in Bangkok are at the level of my ribs which may be about 4 feet/121.92 cm. I have seen much shorter railings in Thailand on the area that the air conditioner is placed, but there were no door access to those areas and the windows either did not open or were restricted to opening to about 6 inches. -
Khao San Road in a Frenzy as Authorities Crack Down on Laughing Gas

This crime is not funny! If the cops don't do something about it, then this crime will balloon out of control. Everyone will then laugh at the cops. The cops need to whip it now! -

off the topic of the thread in response to bradiston. OK, I did not go back to your original post, but I believe you said that most gun crimes are committed by whites kill who kill more people than anyone else. What the CDC article shows are firearm homicides by race. Which over the years reported range from 20 to 30 out of 100,000 people are killed by black people.. About (going by memory here) ranging from about 1.5 to 2.1 out of 100,000 people are killed by whites. Much of those statistics come from the FBI's data. It also shows that Hispanics kill more people with guns than do whites and that Asians and Alaskans kill fewer people with guns than any other ethnicity. On issue of mass killings, two of the biggest mass killings were also done by white men. One at a school (I think) back in the 1930's and the other a Federal building. Neither of those <deleted> used a gun. Both mass killings were done by use of explosives. If I remember correctly, your post addressed "mass shootings", done more by whites than any other race. On that, I agree. Which isn't the same thing as whites kill more people guns than any other race. -

Not all of them. I have a neighbors here in the U.S. of A. who are from Nigeria. His kids go to the same Catholic elementary school that my grand kids go to. I pick up my grand kids from school (Mom does not want them to ride in a school bus) and the school bus drops his kids off at the corner where my house is. Their dad and I like to sit on a bench in the shade of one of my trees (not during winter though) and we talk about many different subjects while his kids and my grandkids run around the yard screaming, laughing, and having loads of fun.

Your are correct, according to intelligence services throughout the world. They estimate that only a small percentage of muslims are considered to be radical islamists, or terrorist's. About 15-25%. Which means that there could be about 300,000,000 to 500,000,000 of muslims that are radical islamists/terrorists! Damn, that could be more than the entire population of the U.S. of A. and more than many more countries in the world! I wonder where all those "radical islamists" are at now?

You can get a U.S. passport back in 2-3 weeks (reading from the comments) when applying for a renewal in Thailand???? This is what I find on the travel.state.gov website regarding processing times for a passport. Note the "mailing times not included in processing times"! Perhaps I should wait until I am in Thailand to renew my passport! Current Processing Times (applied on or after December 18, 2023) Routine 6 to 8 weeks Expedited 2 to 3 weeks Urgent Must make an appointment and have international travel within 14 calendar days About Our Processing Times Include the time your application is at one of our passport agencies or centers. You may get your passport on a different date than your family member or friend. Mailing times are not included in processing times. Consider the total time it will take to receive your passport when you are booking travel. It may take two weeks for your application to get to us, and two weeks for you to get your passport after we mail it.

And if it were not for the melting ice, we could still walk from Russia to Alaska. A long walk to be sure, but still ... if it were not for melting ice! "It wasn’t the first time that ice had sucked up the sea. Vast ice sheets have grown and retreated many times over the past 2.5 million years." https://eos.org/articles/the-bering-land-bridge-formed-much-later-than-previously-thought

I'm not an immigrant. I was born on the continent known as U.S. of A. As were my ancestors going back a long time.
