America has there own reasons and interest in keeping a certain group in Thailand in Power
The US doesn't really care which 'group' is in charge and maintains pretty friendly relations with all the groups, in spite of what you may hear. It is in the interest of the region for Thailand to be a stable country.
The closest relationship in the past has been with the military, by the way.
"The closest relationship in the past has been with the military, by the way".
And yet after the 2006 coup they imposed sanctions and slashed the military aid budget.

"violence is not an acceptable means of resolving political differences."
That's strange! why then did they spend 5 billion dollars doing just that in the Ukraine?

Their are claims that the NACC are corrupt, bias agency that are abusing their powers. Most people wouldn't disagree with that assessment.
Once the dust is settled, hopefully justice is served to the members of this group and they go behind bars.
yes there are claims . they are made by you and your fellow red/ptp lovers as they cannot stand the fact that the courts have ruled against your heroes. Dont worry as only those with tiny brains and no real intelligence think like this, everyone else in Thailand realizes that the courts have made the correct assesment and decision but I am sure all the reds will get their guns/m79's etc and show everyone how democratic they are and of course all their appologists in here will defend their violence once again, pathetic
Oh please! we're not all stupid you know! You can roll out that cobblers to your anti-democracy reactionary right wing rabble retards, but to those of us who believe in democracy, you're just pishing against the wind!

Here's where it all comes crashing down, thanks to the recent senate elections.
The coup clowns don't have the required 3/5 of the senate vote.
There will be no impeachment.
With the Senate being 49% appointed by the Ammart the numbers are very close with slightly more than 60% favouring the old-guard.
Thailand needs reform and the first reform should be an elected senate.
No, Thailand' senate should be 100% appointed as is Canada's.
As is Britains House of Lords, the equivalent 2nd chamber...
Really?
Unlike the elected House of Commons, most new members of the House of Lords are appointed.[4] Membership of the House of Lords is made up of Lords Spiritual and Lords Temporal. There are currently 26 Lords Spiritual who sit in the Lords by virtue of their ecclesiastical role in the established Church of England.[5] The Lords Temporal make up the rest of the membership; of these, the majority are life peers who are appointed by the Monarch on the advice of the Prime Minister, or on the advice of the House of Lords Appointments Commission.[6]

Impeach her? She's gone already.
She is gone, but still needs to be punished. I'm guessing she will get a fine of around 600 billion(or however much it is found that her clan have stolen from the Thai people) and with any luck a lengthy prison sentence to deter any future politician from emptying the state's coffers to enrich their family in such an arrogant and blatant manner. Fair is fair.
I must have missed something here, could you post some links to irrefutable proof of her "emptying the state's coffers to enrich their family in such an arrogant and blatant manner" if you please?

I like it...
But....but.... Suthep, Abhisit..........what about their crimes of genocide?
No No! They don't go to court, only elected officials doing their job go to court, please pay attention.
TIT, the hub of broken democracy.

Russia is not the problem here.
Russia is also not the solution.
To a lot of people who actually live there, it is!

This is being engineered by Russian dictator Putin so he can do a much bigger land grab in Ukraine and perhaps other countries as well. This is entirely predictable after his shenanigans in Crimea. Remember the liar said he didn't want Crimea ... don't believe one word out of his mouth. He'll go in there with the excuse to "protect Russians" ... but guess what, Ukraine is not Russia! These new regions are a bit more challenging for Putin because they aren't as overwhelmingly ethnic Russian as Crimea. As far as the internal change of government in Ukraine, that is an internal matter. Grabbing lands from a foreign power ... Russia ... is an entirely different kettle of carp.
Read the history of the Ukraine, then eat your words.
As for "As far as the internal change of government in Ukraine, that is an internal matter." Why then have the US spent 5 billion dollars fermenting unrest and unseating a democratically elected government?
US and EU Are Paying Ukrainian Rioters and Protesters ...
Kiev and Right Sector Kristallnacht Odessa
Russia is not the problem here.

Firstly this is a terrible act that does not seem to cease. The PTP have really ignored the south while trying to cling to power. Shame on them. Peace talks have stopped and the voters are held in contempt again.
When there is a terrorist attack in Thailand one can be assured yingluck will be inspecting fruit the next day.
Better check out her FB page for her reaction to it, if any. She probably won't even know about it.
Shame on you for bringing the PM into this, you really are scraping the barrel.

Britain, is one of the major countries, accusing third world countries of contributing to the increase of the global warming effect.
But seems to be, when it is for their own benefit, everything else, doesn't matter.
We are not one person. If you look there is MASSIVE public opposition to this move across the country.
There is also massive support.
Yay! Frack away!
Only from the capitalists who only care about short term profits, and have no regard for the planet.

I'm an older generation and am not familiar with Scorpion's music. But I'm a pretty good drummer. They can call me if they need a fill-in drummer. No likely, huh.
Strange! as for one, the Scorpions are an older generation band, and secondly, one of their tracks must be one of the most played foreign track in Thailand.
But then you are American.

The Obama regime...was out maneuvered by Putin on the chemicals issue...anyone who believes Assad is not using chemical weapons is wishful thinking...he has no qualms killing men, women, and children...with gas and snipers...he is a good example of Muslim leadership...gone amuck...
Cobblers! I'm not saying Assad is an angel, but he'd have to be a complete fool to use chemical weapons when he knows the yanks are chomping at the bit to to find an excuse to make some more profits for the armament industry. Syria was a peaceful secular state before the yanks middle east stooges brought massive death and destruction down upon them.
The first casualty of war is the truth!

Well then please tell us who you think did it?
Kamol was famous for his campain against les majeste.
Back in the 70s the army used to burn people alive and throw them out of helicopters.
In the early nineties they liked to hang students in tyres off democracy monument and set light to them.

He has the backing for what?
For "all sides joining hands to ease the situation"?
If you'd bother to follow this situation you'd know he has a blueprint that he is takes to various functions. This blueprint isn't public yet. But you probably knew that, you just wanted to make some smart-azz comment.

Well shouldn't he then be putting it before the electorate and not someone with no say in the democratic process?
What a snake in the grass the little Englishman is.

Imagine if it was stolen and it is in a hangar. Further suppose that some authorities even know that, and know where it is.
They wouldn't tell us because there are hundreds of passengers to worry about. They'd have to get in there somehow and get enough intelligence to figure out what they are going to do. They'd have to figure out if any passengers are alive, if there are perhaps mountains of explosives being prepared, and who knows what else.
The US in particular isn't acting "all out" in the search in the Indian Ocean, when it is usually all out on the front lines in something like this. This has continuously befuddled me. Do they know something?
The US has loads of assets in Guam and Diego Garcia, and right now there are at least two Nimitz-class aircraft carriers in the area.
Is the rather puny and half-hearted search in the ocean misdirection?
Go figure. I don't know what happened.
Could it be because the yanks are at the bottom of all this?

Note to the Thai authorities, take a leaf from the Singaporean and the Malaysians book of
penalties for drug dealers, this country is awash with drugs and ill gotten loot fro drug dealing,
and matter how many millions and billions you will catch, the gains still out weigh the losses,
introduce similar laws to the US R.I.C.O laws and the mandatory death penalty to any one
who caught with drugs above a certain amount, that will make those drugs runners think twice...
Death for weed? Savage!

I kill them with a bamboo stick, and then throw the bodies outside for all their brethren to see...as a warning.
I also spray around windows, doors, etc. a water and peppermint/eucalyptus oil mixture, which supposedly helps keep away spiders as well. Even if it doesn't work, it smells pretty good.
You must be so proud

Unbelievable! The leader of one of the main parties in a democracy threatening a coup if elections are held.
The fascists worldwide are getting restless, what with one democracy destroyed in Ukraine, and Thailand and Venezuela creaking under the strain of reactionary forces, we are in dangerous times.

Its always going to be a difficult job for the armed forces to maintain the facade of being democratic when in truth they don't care for it in the least.
Better than a facade over te last 4 months. Despite Mr FB & the rest of you PTP/UDD apologisers egging them on, the Army have managed to resists ALL YOUR REQUESTS FOR A COUP. Any misgivings we all may have about the army's involvement in domestic affairs fade when confronted with the polices non-involvement in keeping the peace when the victims are PDRC supporters. Somebody has to do it in view of the legally established peaceful nature of the protests and the ongoing attacks. If the police can't do it(for whatever reason), then who can blame the Army for stepping up? Off topic, but it would also be nice for the PM to come out & "criticize her over-zealous supporters": every time there was an outrage like the facebook-airport incident yesterday which was a disgrace to the whoie country. She may get to sound a bit like a stuck record with the repetition o these events but it would at least be leadership material that the public sorely lack from her.
Mind you,as a result of this attitude, there are more than 50% of the voters who now have a jaundiced view of the PTP/UDD. (Pun intended)
What pun?
