The 189 Baht Big Breakfast at The Swan on Soi 13/2 (Yamoto) is my reccommendation.

2 bacon, 2 eggs, fresh tomato, sausage, baked beans, hash brown, black pud, fried bread, 2 toast and marmalade, OJ, tea or coffee mug + 1 refill. Could only be improved by changing the US hash brown for fresh mushroom, portobello preferably.

The big guns are coming out now ..... lol ..

  2. Honda CB300R in absolutely "out of the box" condition....

July 2018, with just 7,000km from new - Service done at 6,000km, with brake strip, synthetic oil and full filter changes..

Bike is Pattaya registered and book is in my name - i have all the necessary papers to hand, for quick and easy transfer to the new owner....

Sports exhaust, with modified internal baffle to make it quieter to keep under the Police radar ! (i have the original exhaust which will come with the bike)..

    Full H2C sticker kit

    H2C front screen

Ergo comfort seats with twin red stitching

    Rad guard

    Tail tidy

15T front sprocket (have original 14T will come with the bike)

    Phone / GPS holder

"Bikers" billet aluminium tax disc holder, which cost an eye watering 760 Baht !

Bike looks and drives absolutely perfectly - I know the new owner will be smitten...

New replacement cost would be a touch over 160,000 Baht - Will accept 107,500 Baht...

  3. You could pay an "agent" to do all the running around for you.
You mentioned you'd done a transfer at the Chonburi office......mind sharing the process as I'm looking of buying an " Out of province " bike.....

When you get there do you go to the inspection bay first or go to the counter....?

Where in the building is the inspection bay and which counter do I go to, to hand the papers in....?

Do you need to hand over the old tax disc and number plate at the initial visit.....or hand them over when you pick up the new plate....?

    TIA ...

  4. I have the same bike, Duke 390, 2017.
It's a great bike for the city and also for day trips outside.
It's basically a 125cc frame with a 390cc engine. It has a lot of power and still fits between the cars in the traffic. It's not as small as i.e. a Suzuki Raider but probably more nimble than a PCX.
    I would buy it again.
Having said that is it not perfect. Riding it below 4,000RPM in the 1st of 2nd gear is not smooth because of the very lean setup for emission standards. And there is little you can do about it except buying expensive after market parts.
The bike has zero storage capabilities. KTM advertises it as Ready to Race. That's true in a way, no unnecessary extras or storage, etc.

Now to that specific bike in the picture. It has some extra parts like aftermarket exhaust, crash cage and especially the back is interesting. I am not sure if that thing should help to transport things or is it for stunt crash protection?

Be aware that some parts on that bike are very expensive like i.e. the TFT display. Make sure it's 100% ok and not (stunt) damaged.
If you are interested I would go with the seller to the KTM dealer and let them check it. Likely such a check will cost less than 1,000B.

About the price: KTM sells these bikes at a discount now because they close the dealership. Maybe you could buy it now for 180k new, I am not sure, check with the dealer. And I guess on the new bike you would have 2 years warranty.
    Thanks for the info.....

The rear carrier is quite interesting....you can have it in the position shown in the photo for solo riding or can "flip" it round so it looks like a normal rack and thus you can carry a passenger - never seen one before...very clever and nice looking.... the bike also has the power parts alarm immobiliser.... along with the installation kit and fitting is circa 13,500 baht extra....and memory foam seats with stitching to match the wheels....

I've read that changing the rear sprocket to a 42t one from the standard 45t one, greatly reduces the lumpyness....

Have you had any problems with yours ...? And what servicing costs have you paid..?

  5.

Looking round on the various selling sites and particularly at the new model Duke 390, the asking prices make interesting reading....

One in the photo is 11m old... 1 ferrang owner...all receipts etc....reccons out the door price ex Insurance was 210,000 baht plus a further 40,000 spent on power parts / fettle.... asking price 149,000 baht .. May be a further 10 to 20,000 haggle in there.... ?

Any one own one ? Interested in honest comments what they are like day to day ... did you also own / ride the previous model...? and what about the servicing future now imports stopped...

I’m using Vaderstreams. https://vaderstream.shop/products/  they are reselling epic streams which are the best I have found. I use it both through Kodi and a media player. I find that sometimes I have to use a vpn if I use it through Kodi in Bangkok but if I use a media player I don’t. In Hua Hin I have no issues using it through Kodi. I’m watching sky sports right now and it’s good quality. For my vpn I use PureVPN which cost me $70 for a 5 year subscription.

another reseller of epic streams is Boss TV, historically they had problems with their own servers but it seem to be ok now. I did not reup with them as they stopped their Kodi app.

sooner or later they get shut down......

Riding a motorcycle is definitely a "no"! Driving should be all right and so is walking the dog. Just take care not to get into any untoward incidences. Yea, I'll say just lay low until it's time to head out.

Since the others mentioned getting an emergency passport, you might also need to consider that you'll be spending a couple of days in Bangkok.

Same caution applies: don't go out unnecessarily, don't invite trouble.

might be worth mentioning that hotels will insist on seeing (and recording details of) a passport, before allowing you to stay -  plus booking a flight / bus ticket may also need you to show a passort for ID purposes (as i assume you don't have a driving licence........

thaiguzzi... have you ridden a Tricity?...

18 months ago, it was time to change my PCX and i fancied something different....

I'd heard glowing reports about the Aerox - but before jumping in "feet first" - i decided to test ride a few of the options out there....

First was the Tricity - i must say i thought the look was awful - i'd seen a fair few people riding them, coming towards me and they frankly loked idiotic.......So sat on it and it felt bulky and heavy for a scooter...... Rode it for 30 mins - wouldn't buy one if it were half the price....

The salesman asked me what i thought - and i replied " Yamaha have solved a problem that never existed in the first place" ......

And its not as if it's an aid for disabled people - if you get off one and don't put the stand down - it falls over !

So conclusion - it looks awful, rides awful and you look a total numptee when you're riding one....

In the end - Bought an Aerox R  -  Fantastic - Trounces a Tricity in every way ....

Im in the process of selling a bike to a guy (BKK area) - bike currently in my name (Ferang) and will go into his Thai Lady's name...

I did a similar deal a couple of years ago and didn't need a residency cert to sell it - but buyer's missus thinks one is needed....

Has anyone (Ferang) sold a bike in the BKK region recently ?  and did you need a Residency Cert..... ?

    TIA ....

    Thanks for the info.

I have a KTM Duke 390 which I bought from them less than a year ago.

I will visit them in the next days and ask what is going on - especially in terms of guarantee and service for existing customers.

I will write an update here if I get any useful information.

What about it's residual value ?

must have lost half it's value surely ??

  11. Bad News for KTM fans in Thailand:

    (Google translate)

From 1 January 2019, reports from Burn Rubber Company Limited, importers and distributors of motorcycles Austrian citizens under the KTM brand have officially announced the cancellation of marketing in Thailand. Ready to clear the stock By reducing the price of every big bike motorcycle under the KTM brand at the price of 25-30% and confirming to continue to provide services and after-sales care to old customers.

    Here's my ten penny worth....

If you are happy with the bike 2 up and want some improvements to the performance / pulling power and general enjoyment of the bike....

    Here's my advice:

Fit 13T front sprocket, remove snorkle from air box and remove metal backfire screen from rear of air filter - Then fit (or get professionally fitted) an EJK (Electronic Jet Kit), plus mega bomb down pipe and FMF rear pipe - You will be staggered with the improvements to the pulling power of the bike.....

Add sticker kit to improve visual look of the bike...

Have the standard seat re-packed with memory foam / then re-covered to improve comfort (standard seat very hard).

If you have the "L" model and use the bike mostly on the road - consider getting a set of "M" model wheels, together with Pirelli Angel GT Tyres - It will then go round the back road twisties like a stunt bike.....
