I see sad problems happen almost every day with many westerners coming to Thailand  and starting to ride a motorcycle for their very first time.

We have all lost count of the number of times this has happened with regular tragic results.

Most people also don't have a legal driving license for a motorcycle in Thailand and as such void the mandatory 3rd party insurance that all cars must have, that would normally help them with medical expenses!

All foreigners that rent motorcycles in Thailand are not sufficiently proficient in riding and  even more not aware of the driving style and frantic habits of many Thai drivers.

Tourists who visit  Thailand think that because they don't speak the language or understand the law, there are no rules that apply to them and they can just do it!

This ends all too often in a body bag or worse, as in this case life long injuries and disabilities.

I have read my "government insurance" policy and there is no mention that the rider / driver must hold a licence - so therefore (imho) if the rider / driver has no licence,  the contract cannot be voided.

That said the indemnity limit for mediical expenses under the said contract is only 50,000 baht as i recall....

    MacDonald's its much selling foods.

But can say its good or healthy food.

So best selling its nothing to say.

And for tall guys its not really comfort..

    Nmax have rear disc break.

    ;)

nothing to do with food - stupid comparison....

Aerox outselling the N Max 2 to 1 - even out selling all the Yamaha super bikes - the public have spoken !

so you're tall - Most people aren't hence the Aerox's popularity.

The Aero's wider diameter / wider wheels n tyres and devilish good looks - trounces the Pug ugly N Max's rear disc any day i'm afraid.

    Soz and all that.

Nice scooter. But not have disc brakes.

    Its a scooter <deleted> !

Aerox has disc on the front and drum on the rear...

Thats ok for the performance of the bike.

Many seem to agree - Aerox now Yamaha's best selling bike.

Well maybe, but the Benelli sounds way better according to different sources and a on-line bike magazine tester likes the Benelli better overall than the Cb500.
Re-sale value doesn't matter much if you keep it more than say 4-5 years.
2nd bike prices have dropped like a stone the last few years.
Okay service might be a problem, don't know how they are covered here in Thailand.

Sent from my SM-C710F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

That may well be true - but in the real world circumstances change and sometimes boredom sets in - if you wanted to sell a 4-5 month leoncino, 70,000 baht may well have vanished.

Would be an Aerox suitable for a 168 cm tall woman? The seat is quite high so I am curious if my wife would be able to reach the ground by her feet waiting for traffic lights to change. I read one indonesian test where the rider was 168 cm short and as they said he could easily put his feet flat on the groud sitting on it. Hard to believe.

The best thing to do is to go to the Yamaha dealers and get her to sit on it....if its a tad to big - remember you could get the seat re-modeled as its fairly thick...

Posting this on behalf of a friend who's not on the internet...

    British passport, age 60+

Came to Thailand just over 2 months ago with a 2 month tourist visa (staying in Pattaya)...

Last week extended his visa for another 30 days at Jomtien immigration....

His plan was as the extension is expiring to do a border run to Cambodia and get another 30 days (and then extend that at Jomtien immigration for a final 30 days before going home)...

So he goes to a visa run company only to be told "maximum 15 days on border runs" - decides to get a second opinion and is told, he will get 30 days !

My question to you learned folk:

If he does the Cambodia visa run - will he get 15 or 30 days ?

does he have to take money with him to show the immigration officials ? - if so - how much ??

And lastly - Regardless of weather he gets 15 or 30 days - can he still extend at Jomtien immigration for a futher 30 days ?

    Thanks in advance.
