It seems he was already out of the Kayak..................
after the kayak capsized, Mr O'Neill said he would swim to shore but was not seen again.
So sad. R.I.P.
Yes, that is the part that is puzzling. Was talking to someone after the kayak turned over.

Doesn't say if he drowned or died from other causes...
QuoteMr O'Dowd said the family was currently working to have Mr O'Neill's body repatriated.
He said it was expected to take between seven and 10 days.
A statement from Clann Eireann GAC said after the kayak capsized, Mr O'Neill said he would swim to shore but was not seen again.
Every kayak I've ever rented here has mandatory life-jacket requirement. Strange incident.?

If not too involving or damaging, I'd check under the floor for broken or leaking drain pipes. Might be seepage under the tiles causing the problem.

Who said he crawled out..?
Erm, the story in the OP.. Perhaps you should go back and read it again, as you have instructed other posters to do.?
At the risk of appearing pedantic; I am cut and pasting directly:
QuoteBack on November 15th at 10pm he went into a neighbor's property to steal ganja plants but was caught and attacked, reported Thai Rath.
She said her brother was a widower with an 18 year old son who lived in a shack in her field.
He had smoked weed since he was a youth.
After the attack he had tried to crawl out of the neighbor's yard but had been kicked until he was badly hurt.

He didn't die from any alleged kicking, give the lead story a comprehensive read, for what that's worth.

Property owner might want to smoke a bit of what he's growing and chill out a tad.?
Granted, the guy was a thief, but kicking him on the ground enough to kill him seems like a large overreaction to me.

Was at BKK airport a few days ago at 6am the place was packed to the gills.
The majority of the 100ś of millions of people in the world who have some money and have traveled, can well afford the price of a plane ticket. Inflation is worldwide and much less of an inconvenience here.
As much as the bitter miopic negative folks hate this place, many people worldwide want to come here now. Lower prices then most places, infrastructure, geographic diversity, entertainment you cannot find in many countries, etc.
I see 60 to 70%, would be tough to hit 80%. But, bottom line this place is on the rise big time the numbers will be increasing indefintely in the future.
Appreciate the positive outlook, but I'm not sure how much recent tourist volume is due to pent-up demand following Covid, and thus short-term only. Factor in rising airfares, inflation, and what will be criminally high energy bills for a lot of countries this Winter, and I'm not sure how long this will last into 2023.

Yep. Looks like the view from Gotemba. Nice place to stay if you enjoy skiing on Fuji.
Air fares have more than doubled since last time I visited in 2019, so not sure how many Thais are actually visiting Japan, as opposed to it being a "most desired" destination described in the OP. Pretty misleading storyline, tbh..

Iran has to be rather scared of the regime-change intended for it by Israel-backed US Govt.
It's not really 'jew-haters' expressing protests and dissent against an ultra-Zionist regime that is carrying out a massive land-grab and persecution of Palestinians. A lot of actual Israelis hate what is being done in their name.
Israel, btw, is the country with all the nukes in that part of the world.

Agree. I normally take April off in the UK and other parts of Europe.
All round I'd say the weather here is fine (for me, anyway), even residing in hot 'n sticky Rayong, E. Thailand.
Certainly, spending a full Winter in the UK seems a lot more daunting. And expensive.
Perspective, and all that.

Pent-up demand (post-Covid) for holidays here will subside next year, when the cost of air fares will still be daunting for a lot of people paying crazy prices for energy and food this Winter . Tourism can't be relied on for Thailand's economy. -Even at pre-pandemic levels, it only accounted for around 12% of GDP..
The sky-high Baht really needs to be addressed. For exports and tourism.

None that were issued under an "emergency use authorization" (still are, btw), with no long term safety reports. From pharma companies that had never brought a vaccine to market before, or for having to be coerced into having products that aren't really "vaccines" double-jabbed to travel or continue in employment?
Otherwise, yes.

Not sure who you're referring to, here?
But, seen a few different reports from undertakers in different countries reporting severe blood-clotting issues:
QuoteIn June, a pathologist who heads one of America’s leading labs, Dr. Ryan Cole, said he was finding unusually long blood clots, as long as one foot, in the bodies of deceased people who received COVID-19 vaccines.
But, when you have supposed first world countries reporting "unknown causes" as a leading cause of death among mainly young people, there should be some cause for major concern.
QuoteMany countries saw 18% excess deaths during the two years of the pandemic. There should have been a drop in excess deaths as we got COVID under control. More people who would have died this year from old age and natural causes died in the past 2 years from covid. Therefore, this year’s excess deaths should be below average. Excess deaths are at the 10-20% level in many countries even as COVID deaths droped and gone from pandemic to epidemic.
In England and Wales, for 14 of the past 15 weeks, around 1,000 extra deaths each week, (none of which are due to covid. IF the current trajectory continues, then non-Covid excess deaths will be more than COVID deaths this year. This was reported by Prof Carl Heneghan, director of the Centre for Evidence Based Medicine, Oxford University.

Also, Covid MRNA vax are in a class of their own when it comes to injuries.
Not to be compared with other run-of-the-mill vs
There are a lot of undertakers now reporting serious blood clot formations in the veins and arteries of people who previously had no health issues before the m-RNA shots.
Also, a lot of young people suddenly dying.

If you are only holding (centralized) digital money, it's just numbers on a screen. You actually own nothing.
These numbers on a screen can be credited or deducted, depending on your behaviour. It's about controlling populations, not ease of business or shopping transactions.
This is actually happening in China, and their "social credit" system:
QuoteStarting in 2009, the Chinese government began testing a national reputation system based on a citizen’s economic and social reputation, or “social credit.” This social credit score can be used to reward or punish certain behaviors. The idea is that the state can give or takeaway points from a social credit score in order to engineer good behavior from the people.
By late 2019, Chinese citizens were losing points on their score for dishonest and fraudulent financial behavior, playing loud music, eating on public transportation, jaywalking, running red lights, failing to appear at doctor appointments, missing job interviews or hotel reservations without canceling, and incorrectly sorting waste. To raise one’s social credit score a Chinese citizen can donate blood, donate to an approved charity, volunteer for community service, and other activities approved by the government. The Chinese government has begun to deny millions of people the ability to purchase plane and high-speed rail tickets due to low social credit scores and being labeled “untrustworthy.”

How much do you spend on your own restaurant food (including deliveries and drinks with meals) per month?

Around 10-15k / month. I go out to eat locally with the family 1-2 times / week in Banchang, Rayong. Choosing between Thai (seafood), Italian, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc.
Sometimes if it's a special occasion we'll book a table at a fine dining outlet in Pattaya or environs. We'd probably eat out a bit more if the missus didn't enjoy cooking at home most days. Fortunately, most of our favourite local restaurants here have seemingly survived the 'rona. ????
