@LL: I personally think this exhaust looks like something for a dek wanz to put on a tuned up fino.
But that is just my personal opinion.

Man I can't wait to get back to the USA. No more waiting and wanting a different bike or importing grey market. It's so funny, in Thailand we get so excited about little things because we can't get anything else without getting screwed in price/tax. I am really looking hard at the Kawa ZX6r ABS (360,000 baht brand new in the crate in the states). Already purchased my car , just have to pick it up at the dealer same day I get off the plane - new 2013 Ford Focus ST in Black with Black leather Recaro Seats, paid less for that turbo car new in the states than the base model they sell and manufacture here in Thailand that a lot of people think is amazing LOL... Lets see top of the line Turbo Focus 870,000 Baht all in, over a million baht for a baseline top model Focus here in the Land of Smiles ....
Taxation is ridiculous here, I do understand completely why people try and avoid it if possible...
Come on 7th of July....
Ah wait, I get dealer discount of 1200 USD on the car so even less LOL... Wonder what discount I can get on the bike, wheel and deal in the USA, no stupid static pricing model and waiting multiple months to get your ride like in Thailand.
Some good points, you'll be able to ride it on the highway as well. Very annoying sitting in Bangkok traffic on a big bike when there's a highway directly above you that you're not allowed on because of the "car for rich people, bike for poor people" mentality that still exists here. Kind of ironic when you consider the prices of big bikes in LOS.
Having said that, there's nothing quite like the roads in northern Thailand with virtually no enforced speed limits and beautiful twisty roads and amazing scenery. Decent hotels for 500 baht and ice cold beers for 50 baht when you stop at the end of a days ride.
Swings and roundabouts I guess.
Enjoy your new ride. If I left Thailand I think the new ZX6 would be near the top of my list as well.
The reason you are not allowed on the elevated highways on your bike is because of the strong winds.

I got the CNC exhaust from K-Speed yesterday. Great sound, lovely roar.

My 1000K service was 1923 baht and took about 3 hours.
Checked everything and replaced a couple of shims.

Maybe the Thais can finance the service too ;-)

it doesnt look like it is about to turn into a robot and walk away.
That's what I love about my 500F :-)
-
It is the same for every immigration office in the whole country.
500 baht and you will get it immediately.
If they told you three weeks, they probably misunderstood and are talking about something else.
-
Long pants and decent shoes wouldn't be a bad investment either.
-
I only put gasohol 95 from PTT in my bike. Runs perfectly fine.
For the rest, just follow the guidelines Big Wing gives you and you will be fine.

There is a garage on Asoke Montri Road.
These are the google maps coordinates 13.753738,100.564333
Very knowledgeable people dealing with all kinds of older and newer bikes.

Oil change is at 12.000 km
The receipt only says maintenance.
1,5 hours, no idea what they did.
I wasn't standing next to the mechanic.
Call me crazy, but I actually do trust the mechanics at Big Wing.

I had my 6000 km service yesterday.
321 baht, not bad, not bad at all :-)

You have come to the worst place on the internet to ask for advice on a bike.
-
Thailand only has the white and black ones.
Maybe more colours available next year.
-
Not suited to my current needs unfortunately.
Keep on riding that Click.

I think the brakes on the 500 are really really good. Had to do a couple of sudden stops and the ABS didn't even kick in, but the bike stopped on a whim.
It's one of the best features for me.
-
A little birdy also told me it will be available in August.
-
Yes. Happened about 2 weeks ago.
Was the stator. Around 2500b.
Bike has 56k km on it.
Freaking great.
Bye Bye CBR...
Bye bye? Only 2500 baht, you don't have to buy a whole new bike.

Yesterday I been to collect my green book at big wing pattaya and I saw they wrong about number of cylinders
I want ask if anyone in this community had same problem and if you think it could bring me some trouble???
Thank you in advance
Looks like it has been corrected already.
But only corrected in the typically lazy Thai bureaucratic style. Brand new bike and book should not be altered by hand and stamped.
Sent from my i-mobile i-STYLE Q6
I would take it and have them issue you a brand new book, you don't want any issues in the future and anything hand written into a Green Book as a correction would seem questionable. You try to sell the bike in the future you don't want any issues and who is to say the person that did that manual correction will even have that same job years from now and even if they did would remember that they are the ones who hand wrote that into the book... Don't think you will have any issue with this request, have Honda sort it out for you, this is part of the service you paid them for.
Same thing happened to me when I changed the colour of my previous bike. Just corrected it by hand. No problems when selling it.

Lool!! U cant compare to scooter in traffic and u know it so please don't fool urself
I commute every day on my 500 and it goes real smooth.Because of its smaller size it can cut through traffic like a knife through butter.

I think you haven't ridden in real traffic in BKK.
I can't count the times that I was stuck behind a scooter because he couldn't get through and don't get me started on PCX's.
Worst traffic bikes ever. My 500 just cuts through it and that was with stock mirrors, I changed them to something smaller now, so the cutting will be even easier.
I agree on mirrors, they stick out 10 feet from bike, what did you change them to?
Xastunts - My collague (Thai) had a massive Ducati 848 and he was slighty ahead of me in rush hour traffic grid locked most times on Rama 9 when I was on the 150 and had silly mirrors There weren't any scooters getting through faaster. And that bike is huge, it vibrates the ground and you can hear the clucking 500m away.
middle Sukhumvit at rush hour you ain't going nowhere on a CBR though, most of the time you can't even get through on a scooter unless you pavement hop. I try avoid it completely, asoke montri and ratchada is bad enough.
At least ur fair an admit it! In sukhumwit ur better off with a bicycle. And of course there are roads that even a fat Harley Davidson will go through vipavadi rangsit etc.
There is always mostly a way to get through even with sports bikes in high traffic. But!!! It's not comparable to the small size bikes period! !
The smaller the better in traffic! Best is bicycle for ur own understanding to compare.
Jesus christ! You really love your bike that much that you can't admit a defeat when there is one!
I love my bike to! But I'm not a fool to fool my self that is faster than my scooter in traffic.
Thanks for understanding.

I have a CB500F not a CBR, I think my advantage also lies in the fact that I can move my mirrors around the car mirrors because they are on my handlebars.
Now I changed them to bar end mirrors, even better :-)

Yesterday I received a letter from Big Wing.
For all the people who paid the replacement of the shims, next maintenance labour costs (300 baht) and changing oil (360 baht) is free.
