  1. I don't understand. Prior to applying to renew my extension? Which will be the day before expiry date so it will be the same or what application date do you mean?
  2. October is 3 months ago, not 11 years you muppet. Ditto Digitalbanana.
  3. Thank you, but I don't remember having to leave a balance of 400k 11 years ago when I got my original visa. Here's hoping the exch rate rises in the next few weeks so I don't need to bother.
  4. Good day Looking for an expert to clarify this rule, I can't find any info on the immigration website. I deposited my 800k 11 years ago and never let this account fall below 800k, I have other accounts for daily useage. Early next month I need to buy a car with money transferred from the UK, however, when I transferred cash in Oct I got 43.4, now its 40.4 which is about 1,000 GBP difference on 800k car. So if the exch rate does not increase by 1st February, rather than take the hit I thought about using my retirement visa money and top that back up if and when the exch rate improves which will give it longer to increase from 40.4 ish. I know the rules have changed since I first moved here but not taken much notice as I had the 800k permanently here. One website has stated I need to leave the 800k for 3 months after my latest extension, 28th Oct, so can withdraw 29th January, but must not fall below 400k and be back to 800k 2 months before expiry so 27th August . Can anyone confirm these are the Thailand immigration rules? I don't want to make an error and fall foul of the laws after 11 years here. TIA
  5. Yes Steve, I've already mentioned that my local tax office doesn't deal with reg change, I had to go to PKK, not Pranburi where I tax it. This article states the car reg change has to be done at the DLT where the car is registered, which I did with my last/current one and it still has it's BKK registration and I can tax it in local/Pranburi office. Thailand Vehicle Transfer of Ownership - Car or Motorbike in your Name [HOW TO] (tdl-service.com)
  6. Where's the actual link and who wrote it? However, that is not my question. I want to know where I need to go to change ownership but keep the registration number.
  7. That's obviously not true unless it's changed within the last year since I bought my last one.
  8. Well you will be wrong. I took it myself to the local (Pranburi) office to tax it myself as the agent wanted a lot of cash to do it even though my name was in the book. Pranburi office told me the same, I couldn't tax it there, I had to go to PKK and change the number.
  9. Background : I live in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan and I have bought 3 cars, all from Bangkok and each one has been dealt differently by the DLT. First one I sent the owner my paperwork, visa copies etc and he delivered the car to me with my name in the book. When I went to the local agent for test and tax they said it can't be taxed here, you have to take it to the DLT in Prachuap Khiri Khan town. I did this with a cost of 5-7k I think and they gave me a new registration number. Second one I went with the dealer to the DLT in Bkk with all my documents, got my name in the book and drove home . When I went to tax it, again I was told have to go to PKK to change the registration number only at a cost of around 200 Baht only. Third one a year ago I went to the DLT where the car was registered in BKK. The lady there did ask me if I want it registered in BKK or PKK so I said PKK. When I went to the agent for test and tax I fully expected them to say I need to go to PKK and change the number but no, they can tax it, no need to change number. .So it still has the same number. Next month I am buying a new car which has a cherished number and is registered in BKK. Obviously I want to keep this number. The owner wants to drive the car to me in HH as he has family here. My question is do I need to go to the DLT where the car is registered to change ownership and keep the cherished number or can I do it here in PKK although it's registered in BKK?
  10. 30 days live TV and catchup is 380 Baht, don't know about the website, I guess you have to register? You can email them, very responsive and will usually give you a free trial if you ask. [email protected]
  11. Same as HD Prime but double the price
  12. Do all the above offered services include a catchup service? HDprime, 380 Baht a month, all sports, EPL, UK plus other countries TV with catchup. Used it for years now, no buffering or freezing.
  13. Buy from Lazada a stun gun zapper thing. You don't need to near the dogs, just press the button and the dogs run away from the sound and no one gets hurt
  14. Nice looking car but it's a big 4 door family sedan, not what I'm looking for thanks.
  15. As I only do a few kms a year, probably less than 5k, I am reluctant to spend a lot. if it was a good young low mileage car I could go up to 1 mill but ideally no more than 800k. I sold my Veloster for 600k as I rarely used it so I thought it a waste plus it was depreciating and only paid 225k for my one owner fsh 2012 mazda 2 sport with 82k kms.
  16. A couple on One2car now, a Turbo in white , not high mileage very cheap at 399k but someone has paid a deposit to reserve and a non turbo, one owner, only 12500 kms, with fsh to prove but 599k. The turbo is the preferred choice of everyone but a 2013 car with 12500 kms is like buying a new motor so tempting.
  17. I think your idea of a sporty coupe is way different to mine...........
  18. Nice but very old, I'm looking no more than 10 years old.
  19. But with the cost of all that I may as well buy another Veloster 600-800k Baht as it's a much nicer car.
  20. The 0-120 isn't important, its cruising comfortably after that, 120-140, as I said most of my use of the car tends to be longer journies, HH to Bkk or further. The Veloster Turbo was ideal for that.
  21. Does it have to be a diesel? Mine's a 2012 1500 cc petrol
