Not tiles but I've just had laminate flooring laid from homepro, depending on the one you choose, no more than 1000 a sq m including fitting, edging and underlay. the one I chose was on offer, 700 Baht so cost 32k total for 43 sqm

Search on FB if you haven't already, they have groups for model train enthusiasts, a lot of Thais are serious about it. I inherited a lot of train layout stuff, mainly new and boxed so advertised stuff for sale on the FB groups and most of it was bought by Thais. Still got a few boxed items left like Faller HO 140430 water park.

I paid a UK cheque into my krungsri bank as I had the same situation as you. Took a couple of weeks to clear and a small charge but saved the hassle.

Fortunately my 'plumber' knew exactly what to do and what to use, unfortunately he's no longer with us. I do appreciate you trying to help but maybe in future you should do it without the sarcastic comments as they may come back to bite you.............. I know to use PFTE tape on screw thread joints but this is to seal the rubber gasket on the plug drain to the vanity basin, maybe I should have described that as the action required. So a thin layer of sealant is what I shall use.

I know the stuff you are talking about and I have a can here, SCG brand with a green lid. But maybe you misunderstand where I intend using it? It is to put a layer of sealant in the basin before I press the strainer fitting on to it, to seal it water tight and hold it in place. I thought the liquid pipe joint compound could not be broke once sealed so how would I remove it if I want to replace it in the future? I never said the guy who fitted was a plumber, he is a time served UK builder with his own business in the UK for over 20 years and worked on several housing compounds here and was very well thought of. And the fittings are still in place and not leaking, just corroded as poor quality fittings, so whatever he did he did an acceptable job. ????

I want to replace a couple of waste plugs in my bathroom as they are corroded and look ugly. On Youtube the plumbers use Plumbers Putty, not sure if this is UK or USA plumbers or both. However, I can't see it online on Homepro and I did watch my builder fit the 2 vanity units and the waste plugs and I seem to remember him using silicone to stick and seal them, is silicone the accepted medium over here or what should I be using?

At Homepro they send a guy to measure and draw the exact plan to calculate the SQM then add 7% for wasteage. I don't fear rain, it has never entered my villa.03

Which is why I asked as it's impossible to keep white grout clean in floor tiles.

Presumably these are grouted like a normal tile or do they butt together like laminate flooring?

My intention was to lay it directly on to the existing tiles so there is a solid flat surface to begin with. Any pitfalls to this? My area is around 41 SQM according to my measurements and laminate including fitting and underlay is around 1,000 per SQM depending on brand, colour etc

I think it .just means you can clean it with a wet mop............. Technician is coming tomorrow afternoon to measure up, he will probably have more answers than the guys in the store.

I'm looking at Inovar Brand but have to decide what is best between Laminate flooring and SPC solid vinyl tiles. The product features seem similar, waterproof, termite proof etc

Thanks for replies, no pets and no flooding. Just back from Homepro and having to deal with 3 assistants as I can't speak Thai, they confirmed fitting is free, I have to pay a measurement/survey fee of 500 or 1000, again depends who you speak to. They also confirmed the plastic underlay is free as part of the service, I will check the quality to make sure its 2 mm not 1 mm thick or I will buy that seperate. There was also a poster on the wall saying if I bought Hoffen Brand for over 12k then fitting was free but they confirmed other brand like Inovar was also free. I'm guessing all brands and prices are similar so as long as I get 8mm plus 2mm underlay I should be OK. My one concern which was difficult to explain in the shop is my sliding door rail to the outside is only about 5mm high and 8mm tiles would be higher, I will take some photos to show in the store when I book my survey. I'm looking to have some sort of laminate flooring laid over the 10 year old tiles in my living room. Anyone got any advice on which type of material or do's and don't's? Thickness ? In Homepro I see 4mm up to 8mm. I haven't been to any stores yet, I've looked online at Homepro who have some very good prices but when I asked online about fitting they quoted just over 500 Baht a sqm which would be 20,000 Baht for 40 sqm which is crazy price.

Already been to Boonthavorn in HH, didn't have what I wanted, only a small selection.

Thanks, just plugged the variations in to GPS, cancel Ratchaburi and back to original plan as no quicker. HH to Mino, about 220 kms and 3.15 hours Mino to SK about 20 kms and 30 mins SK to Divano about 20 kms and 30 mins Divano to Nana about 32 kms and one hour. Thanks.

I've just discovered Divano (2) has a showroom in Ratchaburi so I could go there first on the way from Hua Hin just leaving 1-3, is that still reasonable? Then maybe stay a night in Nana area so 3 - Nana?

Any idea roughly how long to drive from 1-2 and 2-3? Probably arrive late friday morning

Good Day all I live in Hua Hin and don't know BKK at all, the few times I have had to drive there it's been GPS all the way to the hotel. Now I want to visit 3 sofa furniture outlets, can someone advise me which order to visit them to limit my driving across the busy capital and if it's even doable. The 3 are: SK furniture, Crystal Design Centre (CDC), 888 Pradit Manutham RD, KHLONG Chan, Bang Kapi District Divano Studio, Sai Mai Rd, Khwaeng Sai Mai Mino Home , UPD Krungthepkreetha, 259/159 Saphan Sung Addresses taken from GPS on Google maps Or any other furniture shops specialising in leather sofas. UUggghhhh, I always wear a shirt, I wouldn't sit on any furniture without a shirt apart from a sun lounger outdoors.

Growing up in England we also called them settees, over here people seem to call them sofas but I don't know the difference, some people in the UK also call it a couch. I think a recover in leather will be the same cost as buying a new one, it is L shaped and with the cup holder section in it is 3.2 metres long, I use it without the cup holder and it's 2.67 metres.

When I was buying a leather sofa in the UK around 30 years ago my mate's wife said 'I couldn't get a leather sofa, it will be too cold on my legs'
