  1. Yes, I tend to agree about inflating the original price to appear like a bargain, a while back JAS had a '50%' sale, but no way where they selling the sofas at their quoted original price and would be out of business if they sold everything at half price. What factory did you use although 4 months wait seems a long time.
  2. My current sofa is a very expensive suede type leather and when I get hot and sweat my t shirt leaves the fabric wet, leather would just wipe clean, I have to steam clean this one. I couldn't imagine sitting on a fabric sofa in this country, the heat is why I want leather. Yes, my current sofa is from Index, original price 155 k reduced to 117k, nearly 9 years old but stored unused for 2 years. A very big, very heavy sturdy sofa and good for another 10 years I believe but as I said above it's suede, if it was leather I wouldn't change it as it's ideal size, colour and quality. (one piece with cup holders is stored in the spare bedroom as it would make it too big for my lounge) Index and Ikea aren't factories though, they are retail outlets and I presume they buy from Factories but I'm not sure?
  3. Replying to my own topic ! Just looked at Jas online and one mentioned above shows price of 64k, when looking at the detail it says 'top grain leather' if you change to full leather it's 82k and imported leather 152k!
  4. Hi Guys I am looking for a quality leather sofa, where to buy? Obviously I know of Index, SB furniture etc but I was also told a while back about a factory where you can buy direct. This one was called S C Leather and I looked at the time but I wasn't in the market then but they had lots of choice and custom material, colour etc, however now they don't appear to have much choice. Can anyone recommend any others? Since looking at sofas on FB ads for other places are flashing up, AY furniture, Moment Furniture, Mino Home, SK Home, Divano Studio etc Any recommendations ? Also how do I tell if it's quality leather? I don't mind paying the price, 50-100k, but how do I know it's value for money? There is a JAS store in my local mall who had a sign with big discounts off but is a 107k sofa down to 64k, really good value or is it a 64k sofa ? Any advice on where to go and how to identify good quality long lasting leather is welcomed. I live in Hua Hin but I don't mind travelling to BKK to a factory if necessary, thanks.
  5. Can someone (Bagwain?) explain the flow pattern? In the first photo there are 3 pipes coming out of the ground so call them 1, 2 and 3 from left to right. Then number 4 on the second photo on the extreme right from the filter to the ground, is that only for backwash as the red valve is in the off position? When I turn the pump on how does the water flow from the pool and back to the pool? I presume to change the pump the two red valves need to be in the off position to prevent the flooding mentioned by a poster above?
  6. I am well aware of that , so is GLD, not sure what your point is there? It doesn't alter the fact the Poolrite brand has always been available just not in Thailand. You obviously weren't aware.
  7. Yes, I've just watched a couple of videos on Youtube and looks no more difficult than any domestic plumbing job. You are correct about GDL, I actually booked them to come and check my system a few weeks ago but I cancelled as I had to go away. I don't think you are correct about Poolrite though as not only are they still trading in Aus even my pump model is still available. See Mr Pool Man in Aus. Poolrite Pumps (mrpoolman.com.au)
  8. How the system works is just for my personal satisfaction in case there is a problem in the future.
  9. Thank you for your reply. As the system is already in place I don't see changing a pump as a big job, however, it would be my engineer friend who has already done electrical, plumbing, air con and tiling work at my house who would undertake the task. He can fit plumbing joints so I see that as the main task or are you telling me different? I live in Hua Hin and on a local forum a few weeks ago a guy asked a similar question as he has been to 2 local pool people and said the quotes were excessive!
  10. I am a complete novice of how pools work, for 8 years I've left it to the pool team to sort out any minor problems. In fact I've tried posting photos yesterday of my pool room to ask how it works and what do the 4 pipes coming out of the ground do. I've had to take an interest as the pool pump is leaking, it's been patched up a few times and is about 11 years old. Its a Poolrite EP930 which is 1.25 HP. I know Poolrite is an Australian company who don't operate in Thailand anymore so I will be changing manufacturer. I'm looking on Lazada and Shopee at a Emaux SC150, so 1.5 HP, will that do the job? Also may have a chance to get a 2 year old Hayward super pump, also 1.5 HP, also compatible? I presume I will have to change some pipe/fittings to fit if it's a different size, are these just plumbing pipes available from Homepro/Thai Whatsadu etc or specialist pool pipes from a pool shop? Where is your pump mounted? is it on the floor? Because of the height of the inlet and outlet pipes mine is currently stood on 3 breeze blocks so not really firm and secure, how should I mount it? Any advice appreciated as I do really know nothing and although the pool team do a great job of cleaning their technical knowledge is only as good as mine. I will try to post photos of my setup later, yesterday I kept getting server error although I was using my phone to post, not my laptop.
  11. Where the damp course should be at the bottom of my outside house walls the paint flakes a bit because of the damp. I want to put a course of outdoor tiles, is there a product I could use first to seal the area before tiling?
  12. Well finally bought some eggs yesterday so decided to test Khun LA's microwave idea. After 50 seconds still a bit runny, probably due to the microwave power/settings so did another 10 and it was OK. Wish I had asked before I wasted money on the contraption from lazada !
  13. Never heard of that, I need to go look in tile/DIY shop. Is that for the pavers surrounding the pool?
  14. My pool is just over 10 years old and the brown grout in between the brown 'stone?' on the pool surround is wearing away with a few holes and ants making their homes there. Is it 'special' grout for pool surrounds or any outdoor waterproof grout ? TIA
  15. Received a sms in Thai but clearly says 15mbps 365 (days) 3/8/2566 23.59.59 so I'm happy with it. See you in 365 days time ????
  16. Tried both and carrier info in Thai so I will need to wait until I can get someone to translate, thanks again Bruno.
  17. My sim card arrived today so off I went to True with my passport to get it activated. Now the card says True 5G world with a small leaflet. Nowhere does it say Thor which is what the vendor was calling it I believe so how do I check the sim is what I was expecting?
  18. Yes 5GB, sorry. Yes, more than I wanted to pay but I have no idea if 6 or 15 is enough, initially I was going for the AIS with 100 GB max but I didn't really understand it.
  19. I paid the extra for True because my home package that gave me 5 MBPS free on my mobile was True and worked perfectly everywhere whereas I've never tried DTAC. Just about every bar and restaurant has free wifi so it's only really on the beach where I can't connect or if I have to go somewhere in the car and need GPS.
  20. Just ordered the True Thor 15MBPS unlimited for 1790 on Shoppee. Thanks Bruno and other posters.
  21. Thanks Bruno Very rarely make old fashioned calls, usually use Line or Messenger so I probably won't use that facility at all. I live in Hua Hin, used AIS and True for internet whilst on the move but not DTAC so not sure of coverage here but that looks the best value.
  22. Can you point me in the direction of unlimited sim please? I'm not bothered what network.
  23. Isn't that a lot? I pay for wi fi in my home which gave me 5GB for my phone to use if I was away from home, on the beach etc and I only exceeded it a couple of times. I don't watch movies or stream or download anything on my phone. I've upgraded my home internet to fibre 500 Mbps from 200 Mbps but that package doesn't come with internet for my phone. Hence the need for an annual sim, only to look Line, a bit of FB etc
  24. I am also looking to buy a year internet sim card, someone mentioned, maybe on another thread, a AIS marathon card with 15 mbps for around 1590 on Lazada. I looked at a few of these on Lazada but when I translated the Thai text in the description some said activate by 1/1/22 or 1/6/22, all dates in the past. Anyone bought one with a futue date on please and where, link if possible to lazada or Shopee. TIA
  25. Can you expand on that please? I would love to have a try.
