  1. Im sorry but my dress up clothes consist of a clean pair of jeans minus any holes . A clean tee shirt plenty of deoderant and flip flops . I wear that to immigration I also wear it if I go to our consulate .... But I ll agree I have seen some creatures in both places ...... I think the main thing is take a bath before you go ! Bath not baht although I think both will do about the same in both places......

  3. Thank you Harrry....it is really worthy to give it a check.... has anyone already investigate or tied to do anything in Chiang Mai?

    Any suggestions appreciated.

I tried at Hang Dong hospital a few momths ago had yellow book Thai spouse but was told I could not get on it Im just wondering if I should try again . My wife has it and used it many times

  4. I spoke with a tour guide just across from Thape he said he avoids them as much as he can . If he has a choice between farrang and Chinese he will take the farrang first ..... I asked him why and he just shook his head and said bad customer never want to pay , always complain too much ...

  5. They came to my hoouse on my first extention based on marrage . I think there were five of them ... Had to have someone from the moo baan come to the house as well . They took a photo and left. No mention of paying any fee for this . Have had two extentions after that and no vist . I have moved to a new house since then Im curious to see if they come out again on my next extention . They already know I ve moved so guess wait and see....

  6. I came three years ago from the USA with my dog Delta airlines rode in the cabin with us . Notified Agriculture at the airport via email prior to arriving we got in late at night office was open they checked the USDA certificate charged me 250 baht and sent me to customs . At customs I paid another 1000 baht which I got a reciept for . I had a layover in Japan and was met at the exit gate wanting to see the dogs papers . Thats the only time I was asked ..... If you can avoid checking your dog in baggage I would advise it . Anyway to keep them with you is best . Mine rode in a carrier that looked like a carry on bag . I had to take her out when I went through securtiy checks .... But it was rather simple ... Gettting all the documents before I left was a hassle because they had to be stamped by USDA within 10 days of my departure ... Good luck your pet will love it here mine does !

  8. There are 2 metal shops on Mae Jo Road ,opposite side to Caltex petrol station,

    before you reach Meechoke Plaza.

You should also consider, that they may keep intruders out,but in case of fire

may also prevent you from making a quick exit, the reason I don't have them,

the life of my family and i are much more valuable, than anything that can be

stolen, they can be replaced, but once your dead thats it !

I have considered that and my thoughts are I like to sleep with the windows open , Im on the perimiter of the moo baan on two sides . Weighing the options I ll go for the bars .....

Think carefully about the method of installation and you may come up with a solution. Example, a guy did his own installation leaving the bars on one window less solidly attached but with the same appearance. That one he could pull, pound or pry out quickly.

A good sledge hammer in the bedroom could serve a couple of purposes ......

  9. I was there today doing my 90 day report 3 days late $2000 baht no problem my stupid not theres. I felt sorry for the officer that took my money he had three pages of receipts to fill out ..

While I was standing there another man walked up and talked to a female officer said he had given his passport to an officer named MR XXXXX and he didnt get a visa . She explained to him that they did not have a MR XXXX who worked there . The entire thing sounded funny guy had his pass port . She was real nice and explained to him what he needed to do . Im not sure it sunk in with him or not ......BUt there never was any mention of money being paid .....

3 days = 1500 THB. No? I've managed to talk my way out of paying every time. Pure luck.

Well I thought I was going to slip by but not the case ..... I didnt try to talk my way out of it .. Just paid it ..... My 7th day would have been the 22nd Im not sure how they figuired it ....
