  1. I think it's a while ago that this method didn't work anymore. Maybe related with the CAT/TOT merger?
  2. Some time ago I bought a pack of the overpriced kits (5 for 1200 Baht). Out of curiosity I just found that they were actually manufactured in South Korea (SD Biosensor). Some German consulting company and Roche (Germany) involved. No wonder that they are expensive. Had to remove a big sticker on the back to see it:
  3. If the topic starter would have provided essential info one could look at this.
  4. Pink card and/or yellow book worked fine at MY office. But can't guarantee that it is handled consistently. Which office would you go? Don't forget the health certificate. Now ALWAYS required. Also after doing the online "lesson" you still have to go to the office for physicals tests. And due to the backlog it seems some offices have a long queue for an appointment. I think there is no way around checking with the office.
  5. Less than 39 mph (63 km/h). You hairstyle might suffer
  6. Well, I think it won't be much more than the last tropical storm (downgraded after landfall). This time it's called "Dianmu": https://www.tmd.go.th/en/warningwindow.php?wID=11295
  7. Welcome to the club. Same happened to me. Also no idea why. BUT: wife says she also got. So it think it's a warning SMS to all in a region through the mobile providers.
  8. Report in Thai seems to say "truck lost control". Guess truck hit the pole on the left? (didn't see post above before writing)
  9. Indeed. If you then notice it's "just" a high increase in units/consumption the thread turns to a completely different direction.
  10. As the name says, E20 has 20% ethanol and what is not in the name: it is at least 95 octane (knock strength). 91 should have vanished from the market since long but they again stretched it for whatever reason. As I never use 91 I can only tell you that I need about 0.3l/100km more with E20 compared to 95. About 7.5 l/100km compared to 7.2l/100km. Currently it hardly pays to use E20 over 95 (only 1.5 Baht difference). (sorry you have to do US/UK math yourself, I am hardcore metric). Don't spend a thought on using 91 with a modern motor (high compression ratio). You just loose power. 91 is for lawn movers and scooters at best. But why go for it with this small price difference? Even son refused to use it for his brush cutter. Village "tank stop" has no 91 barrel. 91 octane has been abolished in most of Europe for more than 10 years.
  11. Why can't posters not provide most basic info!? How many units? What cost? If cost/units is less than 4.5 Baht then all good.
  12. I must have missed the worse 2010 floods. 2011 was the worst natural disaster in Thailand for decades. And of that I didn't miss a single day.
  13. Have you noticed that this week (Tuesday?) was "wan phee" Don't ask me what it is really about but quite some action and preparation. Daughter AND wife went to the temple. Rare.
  14. It's not a Thai invention. But I don't claim to judge on this method. What I read more than once is, that Moderna is probably "overdosed". It's not the first time that a lower dose was suggested. Have fun with this: https://www.news-medical.net/news/20210802/Intradermal-administration-of-low-dose-mRNA-COVID-19-vaccine-induces-strong-immune-response-study-finds.aspx
  15. Always worked for me (although I do not need it for extension). Excerpt from the internet "Account activity": 17 Sep 2021 14:00 International Transfer xxxxxxxx AUTO 16 Aug 2021 14:00 International Transfer xxxxxxxx AUTO 30 Jun 2021 14:01 International Transfer xxxxxxxx AUTO 17 Jun 2021 14:00 International Transfer xxxxxxxx AUTO 10 May 2021 14:00 International Transfer xxxxxxxx AUTO On the book they appear with code "FTT".
  16. I think it needs an explanation from the OP which kind of rates he is interested in. For the private user it's normally "bank buying cash" or the TT rate for incoming transfers.
  17. A while ago I put some of the rate sites in a bookmark folder so easy be opened with a single click. Currently I have: https://www.bangkokbank.com/en/Personal/Other-Services/View-Rates/Foreign-Exchange-Rates https://kasikornbank.com/en/rate/Pages/Foreign-Exchange.aspx https://exchangerate.krungthai.com/#/counterRate https://www.krungsri.com/en/exchangerate/Todayrates https://www.scb.co.th/en/personal-banking/foreign-exchange-rates.html For the newly formed "ttb" (ex TMB, Thanachart) I can't find it.
  18. Unfortunately it's dead since quite long (months or more than a year?). It was neat for comparing the small but existing differences in bank note buying. But as above I do not miss it much now. I look at the midmarket/currency market rate at WISE or XE. E.g. now EUR/THB = 39.2168 And from that I have a good guess about the other rates. xe.com has very nice diagrams on the desktop website as well as the mobile website (from last 12h to last 10 years). Example: https://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=EUR&to=THB&view=1M You can slide the mouse over the diagram to see previous rates (peaks and lows etc.).
  19. I have seen misc Makita chargers on the net with universal input like 100 to 260 V. But not sure whether they fit what is required here. Just search for: makita dc 18 rc
  20. Providing his wisdom swinging the pointer pen on a model landscape. Bet his attire didn't get wet.
  21. For me it's from their Belgian account to Bangkok Bank. I declare it as used for long stay expenses. That seems to be the reason why it is not in seconds but always 2 PM same day or next day. Most always I send 2000 Euro.
  22. Because for me it works flawlessly like a clockwork for more than two years now (first transaction January 2018). Same day or next day. Last transfer on Friday. Initiated from my WISE account at about 8:30 AM, in Bangkok Bank account 2 PM as always. But that's NOT from the US but from Euro zone.
  23. Not to my knowledge. You report for staying longer than 90 days (first time or another 90 days). How you achieved to stay legally more than 90 days (one year visa, extension of whatever kind) is a completely different matter.
