List of all supported banks: Supported recipient banks: Bangkok Bank Public Company Kasikorn Bank Krung Thai Bank Siam Commercial Bank CIMB Thai Bank Bank Of Ayudhya (Krungsri bank) Kiatnakin Phatra Bank Two very popular banks with the 50k limit. (would immigration like to see multiple transfer of 50k and rest?) That will affect some?

Just stumbled upon this and want to bump it as it is not limited to GSB bank. New thread? Another major bank is ttb (former Thai military bank). Combined with the limit of 49999 Baht for many banks it means practically that only these three banks are usable with WISE for most purposes. Bangkok Bank Public Company 2,000,000 Kasikorn Bank 2,000,000 Siam Commercial Bank 1,499,999 Other recipient banks 49,999 Study the post above from JB300 and read the link he provided. https://wise.com/help/articles/2932335/guide-to-thb-transfers

Where to Buy a 2TB External SSD for Mac Backup?
KhunBENQ replied to falangUK's topic in IT and Computers
Names as already mentioned. Advice shop e.g. Take the effort to visit a shop. SSD for backup? Waste of money and lesser life expectancy. Ignorant question: does such a Mac have USB-C or what's the preferred connection? -
Credit card hacked !
KhunBENQ replied to ravip's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Yes thats what I remembered. -
Always a bit difficult to interpret today/tomorrow. Simply: it's now Monday, May 12th. No more booze ban. Substitute holiday (government / Immigration closed). Practically no other implications. Not sure about banks. Buddhist holiday and local elections were yesterday, Sunday May 11th.

Forgot about May 9. So it's a four(4) day holiday period which might affect transfer/credited date. -
Best known since 1215 in the Magna Carta. Vaguely remember some history lesson in school. But who cares about this outdated stuff

Credit card hacked !
KhunBENQ replied to ravip's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I rarely use my foreign credit card. When possible Thai debit card or direct debit/transfer. Thai debit cards e.g. from SCB can be configured to the finest detail. Usage, countries, limits... -
Credit card hacked !
KhunBENQ replied to ravip's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Yes don't give it away. Scratch off the three digit code (after noting). True for all cards. Give a card to a pump station assistant and expect it to be photographed from both sides. If the card issuer has no two factor feature that is enough to use the date online. No hack in the IT way needed. booking.com has a specific security problem with hotel ITs hacked and people sent phishing messages that look 100% legit. Not sure whether it's related. -
Reduced battery life of phone brought to thailand
KhunBENQ replied to hotsun's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Heat and age. Most phones have a feature to check battery status (percentage of capacity remaining). Also there are maintenance features that might show possible power eaters. To save battery life I use the stop charging feature. 80% and charging is held. Also don't run it empty to single digit percentages. Yes it costs usage time but better than shortening battery life. In Thailand you will always find some techs who can change battery on about every phone. Go ask what it costs (worth it). -

Wise transfers
KhunBENQ replied to Geoff914's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Same here since years. It seems so much dependent on currency sent and receiving bank. I always send EUR "for longtime stay" to Bangkok Bank and the money comes next working day (if initiated after 9 AM or so). NEVER received money on a Saturday or Sunday this way. Often check Friday evening exchange rate and decide to send. Money arrives Monday 14:xxh. On the other hand I did two transfers to Kasikorn for "personal expense" and arrived in seconds. I don't bother. What can make you nervous/angry? Send EUR to EUR in SEPA payment area and wait for a day or two. Archaic. From October on all German banks will be obliged to offer free instant transfer. If you depend heavily on instant overseas transfer you need to find another service. -
Community Surprise Raid Uncovers Indian Hotel Party Near Pattaya

Who is hopefully fast enough to flee from the unhappy party mob? Interrupting late night noisy parties might trigger resistance. It has become so common to attack police nowadays -
Community Surprise Raid Uncovers Indian Hotel Party Near Pattaya
KhunBENQ replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
Generally 5 AM is start of any noise from loudspeakers especially from family parties/events. A morning quiet until 6 AM is a relief. For today's election there was two weeks campaigning with speakers on pickups. Up and down all day. Message: #1, #2, ..., #8 with some music mixed in. It is a strange people as written. Looking forward to two weeks in Pattaya enjoying quiet nights 😁 -

100k/25 = 4000 per day. (some days out of service) That is not nearly as unrealistic as the 600$/hour! (must be typo / misunderstanding) 4000 per day is doable. Young stunners at Gogos do that with one customer. -

The Indians beating the Thais in making noise that kills your sleep. That means something. Read that the Indian clubs on Walking Street set new levels of deafening noise. Here in the village you might be the unlucky looser if there is some family party in the neighborhood with a stage built up. Two story high speaker towers. Windows shattering. Until midnight is the norm. It is and will always remain a "strange people". -
Just seen that easing the rules takes effect immediately. So have a look at Sunday evening.

600$ ??? Almost 20000 Baht. Five customers per month? Lazy bugger. What the heck are her special artistic features? Can't be true! -
Talk straight. You want to be engaged as an undercover agent But be aware, most of the Uzbeks are dirt ugly for my taste. And majority of the Africans have a "few extra pounds". Years ago I watched some seemingly central Asians (Uzbek?) and they will absolutely avoid any westerners, seem to look for their fellow countrymen.

Report Viral Video Highlights Tourist Chaos, Raises Phuket Safety Concerns
KhunBENQ replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Much overrated this "brawl". A rat-arsed half naked is pushed by other half-naked until his bum hits the ground. Wow. Just riffraff among themselves. Compare this to the rat pack kicking drunkards in Pattaya. Kicking already motionless people to the head. I have been to Phuket just after opening following COVID. As an early bird I walked through Bangla in the morning when the last remains are swept out from the clubs. Always some excitement, shouting and pushing around.
