  1. Going on for a while (maybe under different registration). Friend had an invitation for August 18 which he could not attend as being vaccinated with AZ already.
  2. Yes to be correct, seen at the pharmacy booth at Watsons. Just found a youtube video of a girl buying it at Boots.
  3. Watsons Last seen here Saturday, pack of five for 1400(!) Baht. Manufactured by Roche. Would be surprised if they don't have in Phuket. Could also look at other drugstores (Boots etc.).
  4. I will likely be in town tomorrow and have a look. It surprises me that Makro does not have it. They have quite a selection of liquors. I stopped alcohol years ago. So not too much insight.
  5. Or at least for a subsidized price. Five kits for 1400 Baht (Roche) at the drugstores is just too much for many. 280 Baht per kit is about 7.18 Euro. In Germany at drugstores about 0.80 Euro.
  6. Surprising. Does she have substantial information about the particular Sinovac risk? Sinovac is a conventional/proven "dead" virus vaccination. You should better not tell her about the list of risks of the new mRNA or AZ vaccines!
  7. Can't tell what is "best". Just that the Kasikorn branch search shows two locations opened 8:30 to 15:30 which means they are NOT in shopping malls. https://kasikornbank.com/en/branch/Pages/result.aspx?q=Hua Hin&option=1&lat=13.724599&lng=100.6331106 You can vary the search and might find another branch "on the way".
  8. There is an upcountry "campaign" (what's the better word?) of giving 1st shot Sinovac followed by AstraZeneca. Was in the news and at our subdistrict this started end of July. My 2nd shot (AZ) is in Friday 27. About 700 mostly elderly people or people with certain heath risks in our vicinity. Two Sinovac shots seem to have been given up due to poor efficacy. Ask about it.
  9. What makes you sure? I have paid a deposit but with the always changing news I am skeptical. I bet that you are on a campaign of one Sinovac followed by AstraZeneca in three or four weeks? I would take it. My AZ is on Friday and then waiting for Moderna... I did hardly notice any reaction/side effects from Sinovac. I expect that AZ will cause some effects. Sinovac plus AZ will at least give you "vaccinated" status in Thailand and come useful for future domestic travel (not for most international travel).
  10. You are not alone. Not even Google got the fanfare. Still long detour to U-turn shown. Might mean that navigation tools will still send you through Chaiyaphruek.
  11. Think big, 100 billion Baht plan (3.2 billion USD). And papa has real big money. If this tsunami comes over Pattaya you will hardly recognize it. Already spent some peanuts (550 million Baht) for a hotel/plot on Jomtien beach. The new MICE center on the east coast. https://www.forbes.com/sites/rgluckman/2021/07/08/thai-real-estate-giant-bets-big-on-tourism-rebound-with-32-billion-growth-plan/?sh=3957778c3ecd
  12. As far as I know J&J is still not available in Thailand? So you have little choice but doing a full round of other vaccine(s). Two times Pfizer or two times AZ should open the gates in Europe. AZ is comparably easy for foreigners but will span over 12 weeks. It seems that AZ followed by Pfizer is used not only in Thailand. But check carefully whether it will be accepted in your destination country. You might find this interesting (the 215 people with four vaccinations): https://twitter.com/ThaiNewsReports/status/1429029990914428931 Controversial statements (comments) about AZ made in Thailand good or not.
  13. Yes, Bangkok governor decision. A patchwork country.
  14. Unemployed thanks to their brilliant government I suppose.
  15. I have followed the history of this wooden path from the beginning. Even for Thai standards I can hardly remember a construction falling apart that quick. It started with the railing breaking apart, sometime removed. And the irony: it was an elevated path above the sand. A meter or so. Even signs praising it as kind of "viewing terrace" ???? After filling up the beach it's now just "lying" on the beach. Tear down, rebuild with concrete, hard to spoil anything on beach rd.
  16. Two TG flights this morning but likely not for domestic use? Connecting to Frankfurt and Paris.
  17. Just confirming your statement. And no surgical masks everywhere in 2019.
  18. Though the video is quite blurry, definitely no pit-bulls. Four tall, long legged, short haired dogs. No typical fighter beasts. But most dogs have a strong attitude to protect their territory. Very dangerous to stick ones arm through the gate.
  19. A correct date/time on these dash-cams is more an exception than the rule. And that this video is not from 2019 is very obvious, isn't it? Does one need a hint?
  20. No commercial flights. I haven't seen a bus for many weeks. A granddaughter had to be brought back to her college near Korat from here. Uncle and parents drove with pickup. Almost 500 km round-trip during daytime.
