Israeli embassy urges tourists to respect Thai laws & culture

Israel's embassy in Thailand has released a Thai-language video aimed at addressing concerns about Israeli tourists, with deputy chief of mission Rami Teplitskiy delivering a message urging visitors to respect local laws and culture.

The video was posted on the embassy's Israel in Thailand Facebook page on Friday, September 11, 2026, accompanied by a statement in both Thai and English. The embassy said it was working closely with Thai authorities on the issue.

Teplitskiy delivered the message in Thai, an effort the embassy said was intended to allow him to communicate directly and sincerely with Thai people. The embassy apologised in advance for any pronunciation errors.

Embassy cites guidance for Israeli travellers

Alongside the video, the embassy said it had already issued an official guidance brochure for Israeli travellers to Thailand.

The brochure stresses what the embassy described as "strict respect for Thai culture and laws". It did not announce any new Thai immigration, visa or tourism rules.

For Israeli visitors and expatriates, the message is a reminder that embassy advice does not replace local regulations. Foreign nationals in Thailand remain subject to Thai law, including rules governing conduct in public places, business activity, accommodation and travel.

A message aimed at Thai audiences

The decision to issue the message in Thai appears intended to address those concerns directly with a Thai audience rather than only with Israeli nationals.

In its accompanying statement, the embassy said it remained "fully committed to safeguarding our warm friendship" between Israel and Thailand. It also said it would continue encouraging Israeli visitors to treat all Thai people with honour and respect.

Thailand is a major destination for overseas visitors, and the embassy's wording underlines the importance for tourists of understanding local social expectations as well as formal laws. This can include behaving respectfully towards local communities and following instructions from Thai authorities.

The embassy did not say whether the brochure or video would be distributed beyond its social-media channels, or provide further details of its discussions with Thai authorities.

Yeah, even their own Embassy have to go out and tell their people to behave. Ridiculous! Neither is it going to help, as it´s a self-entitled population of misfits.

From a country infamous for extortion, money laundering, and money lenders, thats a bit rich coming from Israeli Embassy.

understand exactly what you wrote. Similar posts have appeared on white supremacist and neo-Nazi websites. The conspiracy theory about Zionists deliberately provoking antisemitism is close to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and even parts of Hitler's Mein Kampf.

But I could be wrong. Would you please give us the source of the information in your post? I am particularly interested in knowing to which kabbalistic prophecy you are referring. I have a feeling you might not have understood what you read.

He needs somewhere to say it. He couldn't say it in Germany where he's from and he probably doesn't have any friends in Thailand

The problems involving some Israeli tourists in Thailand are a current issue, and there is evidence for individual cases. But what evidence do you have that Malaysia and Indonesia banned Israelis because they were causing trouble? Malaysia has explicitly said its ban is a decades-old foreign-policy decision because it doesn't recognise Israel. Those are two completely different things.

This isn't hard.

It is a FACT that the Malaysia ban has nothing to do with tourist or expat behavior.

It's 100 percent political reflecting Malaysia's stance towards the state of Israel.

More like their lack of a stance.

I guess Sondhi's protests got the attention of the Israeli government. That should be the message all embassy give to their citizens.

Yes, all embassies should.

It's a problem that only Israel has been scapegoated.

As I've said before, a good reason for ALL embassies to make an effort with this is that recently in the current political atmosphere in Thailand of xenophobic hyper nationalism the Thai laws around unwelcome foreign behavior got more severe so ALL foreigners need to be both advised AND warned.

At some point you cant keep playing that everyone hates jews card. If jews or Israels are acting badly they should be called out, just like ever other race or nationality.

Pretty much every nationality has been $hit on at some point in time as much as Jews. It doesnt give a licsense to act above anyone else or condemn others for speaking their opinion.

Look at the Israel government's actions and place some blame on them for the Nazi like behavior toward their neighboring countries if you want others to show respect as a general view. Stop being a hypocrit

First if all this is not about the conflict in Israel/Palestine,

Calling Israelis Nazis tells us where you're coming from but again, this topic is about foreigners behavior in Thailand, not their home countries, and not what their governments might be doing back home.

Moving on from your hijack attempt I will call world class BS on your assertion that other countries have previously gotten he same lind of flak in Thailand that Israel is getting.

That's just totally wrong!

Protests at embassies protesting behavior of nationals? ONLY ISRAEL.

Racist signs at such non-existent protests at other embassies? Never hapened ONLY ISRAEL.

Islamist activists holding racist signs protesting a peaceful observance of a major religious holiday.

Only against Jeaws.

If you can prove otherwise, post it, but I know you can't.

There have been protests at other embassies but about foreign policy issues, not tourist and expat behavior.

Apparently it's quite the bestseller these days — although, oddly enough, I can't seem to find it for sale anywhere. 😏

Give an Israeli an inch and they'll take a yard. Thailand is wise trying to stop them at the half-inch mark.

Thai people wising up to the danger. Much better than laws that can be worked around. Here's one account from many such protests recently:

A Jewish New Year celebration in Phuket was cancelled at the last minute on Friday evening because of concerns raised by Israeli security officials, organisers said.

The decision was taken as an estimated 500 people gathered about 500 metres from the Chabad House in the Patong area for a rally organised by a group calling itself Save Phuket.

Participants carried signs reading “Save Phuket No Israel”, and chants of “Free Palestine” were heard at the rally.

The protest organisers later issued a more ominous message: “We are monitoring the situation surrounding the Jewish New Year event in the Patong area. These Jews are staying inside their mansions.”

Last para suggests Thais aren't just wising up, they're pissed.

I know all that .

But that doesn't answer my question .

Its just few 100 Muslims, it not Thailand as a Country .

The Western Anti Jews and Anti Semites are trying to capitalise on this .

Trying to portray it as Thailand turning against Jews , but its just a few 100 mouthy Muslims causing a fuss

What danger?

Jews in mansions?

That's a giveaway about the ignorant racist Jew hatred behind the hysteria.

Try a few thousand at this Sondhi rally. Women mostly non-Muslim by the lack of head scarves. Can't blame Thais for getting mad when genociders show up in their country misbehaving and throwing their weight around.

And not just Thais, most of the rest of the world loathes Israel. I would be careful though not to conflate Israel with Jews whole cloth. Some lovely Jews on the airwaves decrying Israel's evil.

Now, now, don't get personal and drag family into an ideological dispute. That would conform to the worst Jewish stereotype of being slimy, which I personally heartily disagree with.

Oh, you're funny Nicky boy. Heck, I could see staying up Sat. night bantering with you.

Nah, on second thoughts no. I'm going out now for my late night road run. Best time. Little traffic, little pollution, no Jews. Ouch, no, mistype, I take that back. Jeez, what's happening to me? Gotta be careful.

To spare you any personal embarrassment, Al Qaeda, Iranian state media and Stormfront aren't considered credible. And in case you are using the New Testament of the Christian Bible as your source, Jesus drove out the money changers, not money lenders, from the Temple.

Can't believe these threads about Thai's being a bit upset by a few dodgy Israeli's is still getting traction.

I see the usual suspects are defending the undefendable, I take it the antisemitic names have been called out against anyone who thinks the Thai's are right and the Israeli's are in the wrong, here, no surprises there.

Hope the Thai powers that be track down some dodgy land sales and a few Shekels get flushed down the Khazi.

Nice to see the Embassy guy looking contrite in the Kingdom for once, love it that the antisemitic card don't wash here, but no doubt the Israeli attack dog, the mighty US of A will have their two cents worth about that.

Interesting times ahead in the Land of Smiles.

Weird that so many people hate jews.

Seems odd that wherever they go, people hate them.

Consistently /

Seems to be a pattern there.

Its not even questionable about whether they are anti semitic or not .

They are carrying around placards with ant semitic slogans on them .

They aren't even trying to hide their anti semitism
