Israeli mother and daughter attacked on Koh Pha Ngan

An Israeli mother, 62, and her 23-year-old daughter were seriously injured in an alleged assault on Koh Pha Ngan after a man asked where they were from and was told they were Israeli.

The suspect, who holds a French passport, was later arrested after allegedly becoming involved in another violent incident. The women said they believe the attack was connected to a discussion about the war in Gaza.

Attack followed question about Israel

The mother had travelled to Thailand for a two-week visit while her daughter was already travelling in the country. They rode a motorcycle to a waterfall on Koh Pha Ngan and parked near the road before walking about 100 metres towards the site.

They were buying a coconut when a man on a motorcycle stopped behind them and began talking to them, the mother told Ynet from her hospital bed.

"He asked my daughter where we were from, and she said Israel," she said. The man then challenged them over the war in Gaza, telling them: "I don't like what Israel is doing there."

The mother said she told him they were on holiday and did not want to discuss the issue. He replied, "I'm against violence," before the exchange ended.

Moments later, she said, the man called to them from above, came down towards them and attacked. "Out of nowhere, he started beating me viciously and bit my ear," she said.

Her daughter tried to protect her and was also beaten. The mother said she was struck on the head and apparently lost consciousness.

Both women needed surgery

The daughter ran towards the road to get help and called out to two French women. The suspect chased her, according to the mother, but fled on his motorcycle when he saw other people nearby.

Police and an ambulance were called, and the women were taken to a hospital on Koh Pha Ngan. Medical staff decided both required surgery after a CT scan found bleeding in the mother's head, prompting their transfer by boat to a hospital on Koh Samui.

Their conditions were initially described as serious but later stabilised. The mother spent 24 hours in intensive care, while her daughter underwent surgery on her nose. The mother had surgery on her ear and said she may need another operation.

Arrest linked to separate incident

The mother said police later told them the suspect had gone to another town, caused a disturbance and attacked police officers. Officers did not initially know he was connected to the assault on the two women.

After police spoke with the women and the daughter gave a statement, they recalled the suspect's name. Police then identified him as the same man allegedly involved in their case, the mother said.

She said she had considered Thailand welcoming towards Israelis and had not expected such an attack. "We will learn not to say we are from Israel, because you can never know how someone will react," she said.

It's as if there's an endless parade of people who have not done their research, have not done their homework, don't have any idea what the real issues are, and just simply resort to juvenile memes to describe someone who's critical of extremist Israeli policy. It's almost as if they're a hired spoke person for AIPAC, shooting off that nonsense and always equating criticism of Israel with hatred of Jews. That is the very definition of ignorance.

So, do ya reckon Israelis feel anything knowing they're almost universally disliked? They holiday away from harm whilst systematically attempting genocide. Odd.

Israelis put surviving over being liked or understood.

The fact is Palestinians are neither liked nor trusted throughout the Arab world. Their main backing comes from the Iranian regime, with token support from some western interests

They try to conflate Zionism with Judaism and 'self hate' its quit simple

you can be of the Jewish faith and not be a Zionist, but the Zionists will call you

It's not nearly that simple and also racist Jew hatred is mostly against Jewish people rather than Judaism.

My side isn't stealing, raping, pillaging and slaughtering kids. So our women and daughters are safe. Well, reasonably.

Israelis, on the other hand, should be shown by the world what they are thought of at every opportunity.

If someone challenges your position, you simply refer to AIPAC.

The attacker is out on bail, even after fighting Thai police who were trying to arrest him. I thought Thailand didn't grant bail to foreigners who assaulted cops, but they did in this case.

The Mossad has a long memory regarding attacks on Israeli civilians.

Thailand attack suspect released on bail after brutal assault on Israeli mother and daughter

A French national accused of brutally attacking an Israeli mother and daughter in Thailand was released on $3,200 bail; The mother, still hospitalized, warned Israelis and Jews that he is a danger to the public and is roaming free on Koh Phangan or Koh Samui.

Paul William Bercu Gaubert, a French national who brutally attacked a 62-year-old Israeli woman and her 23-year-old daughter last week on Koh Phangan, Thailand, has been released from custody after bail of about 12,000 shekels ($3,200) was paid, and is now roaming free. The two Israelis, who were seriously injured in the attack and hospitalized, were informed Friday of his release. The mother remains hospitalized after undergoing two surgeries, while her daughter has been released from the hospital after also undergoing two surgeries.

You'll find them all in Pai, a few dozen scattered here and there throughout the rest of Thailand. They usually live in groups and don't mix with other nationalities. They know they're generally frowned upon. Often loud and disrespectful of those around them. People are avoiding the place because of them.

Insane this violent man was released on such flimsy bail! He assaulted a cop, then put two normal women in the hospital. That calls for a jail sentence!

In Thailand, they take any currency!

Right. Mossad cab't even find the terrorists or infiltrate Iran. Guess they've slipped since the secret airlift from Ethiopia and the hostage crisis in Munich.

Hamas claims ~72,000 deaths in Gaza. Of those, roughly 30,000 were terrorists, and the total includes natural deaths. Urban warfare expert John Spencer notes Israel has achieved far lower civilian-to-combatant ratios approx 1:1 than the typical 1:9 in urban fighting.

Hamas hides in tunnels, wears no uniforms, and uses civilians as shields. Many of its own rockets have killed Palestinians — including the “hospital strike” initially blamed on Israel by the BBC and others, which was actually a Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket that hit a car park and killed about ten people.

Israel has dropped millions of leaflets, made millions of calls and texts, and issued maps of safe routes before strikes. No other military matches this. If genocide were the goal, Gaza’s 2.1 million people could have been wiped out in an afternoon.

Israel also coordinated with the WHO and UNICEF for humanitarian pauses so over a million polio vaccines could reach Gazan children — the first cases in 25 years.

Yahya Sinwar was willing to see Gaza destroyed to advance Hamas’s goal of eliminating Israel, calculating that higher Palestinian deaths would turn the world against the Jewish state.

You can hate Israel and Jews but the facts remain: a country of 9 million (including 2 million Arab citizens plus other minorities) facing a movement whose charter calls for its destruction.

So anyone that says Israel's actions were wrong, what would you do if your country was attacked by 3000 terrorists and 2500 civilians where 1200 people were murdered, raped, mutilated, tortured, burnt alive and 251 were kidnapped back into Gaza?

you are trying to reason with jew haters who praise the holocaust

Not because of racism as you try to insinuate but to put pressure on the regime to change their policy towards their neighbors.

Policy towards their neighbours cuts two ways. Perhaps you are unaware of the events of 7 October 2023.

You take Trump out of the equation, there's no putting down America, and the same can be said for most any country. It's leader's mistakes have given them reputations. he fact that all countries have thousands of citizens living there have many reasons why. besides North Sentinel Island of course.
