Thai police have launched an investigation after the body of model Sukanya Thawichokkamthon, 30, was found floating on the River Khwae in Kanchanaburi following a night out.
The mother-of-one was discovered on 22 July after a fisherman spotted her body lodged against a raft on the river. Officers said there were no visible signs of assault, although a small packet containing a white powder was reportedly found in her clothing.
Investigators are awaiting the results of a full post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Last known movements under review
Police say Sukanya travelled to the Somdet Phra Sangharaja Yannasangwon Bridge in a ride-hailing vehicle before she disappeared.
According to the driver, she appeared to be looking for someone or something after being dropped off late at night in Kanchanaburi. She was not seen again until her body was recovered from the river.

Her identity was confirmed through DNA testing after her sister assisted investigators.
Police are analysing CCTV footage from the surrounding area in an effort to establish Sukanya’s final movements. Officers are searching for her missing handbag and mobile phone, which have not yet been recovered.
Family questions what happened
Sukanya’s family have said they do not believe she took her own life. Loved ones described her as a devoted mother to her young son and have expressed doubts over the circumstances surrounding her death.
Authorities have not announced any conclusions and say the investigation remains ongoing while forensic evidence and the post-mortem findings are examined.
The model had built a social media following of more than 24,000 people.
