Three US Tourists Face Visa Revocation in Koh Phangan Over Misconduct

Koh Phangan district authorities in Surat Thani have decided to seek the revocation of visas for three US nationals of Israeli ethnicity. This action follows concerns that the individuals' behavior could disrupt public order. The case will be forwarded to the Immigration Police for further review and action.

The decision was made during a meeting led by Paisit Thongjerm, the Koh Phangan district chief, who chairs the area's Committee for Screening the Behaviour of Foreign Nationals. This marks the committee's fifth meeting of 2026. Attendees included various law enforcement and administrative officials, emphasizing the importance of maintaining order.

The individuals were reportedly seen carrying a flag with a religious symbol and allegedly encouraging people to join a group via WhatsApp. They were also said to have distributed leaflets to promote an activity in Koh Tao subdistrict, which raised concerns among locals and tourists alike. Businesses and residents feared these actions might lead to unrest.

The authorities have taken this step to ensure the safety and confidence of tourists and residents. The immigration police will now consider appropriate legal actions based on the report submitted. Koh Phangan officials remain committed to cooperating with all relevant agencies to uphold public safety and order.

Who cares what you believe? You believe it's okay for men to do unspeakable things to each other. Accept that others can and will have a different view.

So you're a homophobe too. Well noted.

That's your own disgusting imagination. Take it elsewhere. Mind control doesn't work here. Everyone is free to have their opinion. I am perfectly free to be disgusted by whatever disgusts me. Do you have a problem with that?

Back to the topic.

The people involved we know are U.S. citizens.

We also know they are Jews.

But we don't know if they also have Israeli nationality as Israeli is not an ethnicity and it sounds like the press used that as a weird euphemism for Jews.

Does anyone know?

I find it relevant as a single nationality U.S. citizen.

A related topic to this is what I see is widespread perception especially among Jew haters that most American Jews have dual citizenship with Israel. That is totally false.

I just looked this up.

So about 10 percent of Israelis have dual citizenship.

But that includes Arab Israelis.

That includes Israelis who migrated to another country (such as Israeli Americans).

Of those non-Israeli Jews that got an Israeli passport under the law of return, that includes Jews from all over the world, not only the USA. Other than the USA there are large numbers from other countries such as France and Argentina. though the USA is the biggest.

So the current population of Israeli Jews is about 7.5 million.

10 percent of that is about 750, 000.

The population of American Jews is also about 7.5 million.

So excluding all the exceptions noted above I reckon at most 5 percent of American Jews have obtained Israeli dual nationality.

Just a guess but it couldn't be more than or even close to 10 percent as noted.

So it's relevant to challenge assumptions that American Jews are also Israelis though in this case, it's certainly possible.

Are American Jews on the <deleted> list here as well?

NO.

However, one might imagine that they are feeling GREAT PAIN, these days....just watching....

What is happening now, and what has been happening during the past decade.

So, YES.......

They are worried they might be put on the list.

Of course, it is not fair.

Life is not fair.

And, the Jews probably know this better than most people.

Same with other ethnic groups, such as KeJia-Ren.....for example.

Well I hope it's just me and not all Jews that you're picturing as rodents given the historical implications of that.

Let's hope it's just you. You can park your implications elsewhere. Fix your own mind. Don't try to tell me what and how I should think or perceive.

If you respect someone, you may choose to emulate them. If something disgusts or repels me, there's usually a reason for that. Stop all this Jew hating nonsense. If I don't like someone for they way they behave, then I don't like them. I don't need to justify it to you nor anyone else.

Do you abuse people who don't like snakes? Some people will jump out of the skins if they see a rat. I tend to not react. That's nature. Stop trying to control what people think. If they don't like you, they don't like you. Change their minds by being likeable.

Judging by the foto, these guys are Hasidic, orthodox, Jews. Disliked by most Israelis and certainly by me.

There are multiple sects of ultra religious Jews. Personally I'm not a fan of ultra religious anything.

But if what this group was doing was to host a Passover seder abroad I think that is a mitzvah rather than criminal behavior.

I totally agree with giving them the benefit of the doubt on this, but why now? As a long-time resident, have you seen this method of hosting a Passover celebration previously in Thailand?

I was about to ask how can you have Israeli ethnicity. But surely you can't have Jewish ethnicity anymore than you can Christian, Muslim, Buddhist or Hindu ethnicity. You would have to have agnostic and atheist ethnicity as well. Just about sums up Israel to make such a statement. What are the non Jewish people who live in Israel if not Israelis?

Afraid...

Beats me

I have no idea about that.

However I reckon that if it had happened in the past it probably wouldn't be news.

There is no denying the current geopolitical tensions having an influence.

As I've said before I can't blame Thai authorities for wanting to be overly cautious about potential security risks.

You are only realising what you are. You know nothing about me. I don't rush to every thread to defend Jews/Israelis and I am not a perversion of nature.

Sorry to tell you my friend, but my behaviour is normal and balanced. it's you who is out there.

Your hysterical behaviour will not ever change the facts of life.

Perhaps in your mind.

I'm a Brit. You won't see me rushing to defend the behaviour of every Brit featured on this board.

I am also in a normal long term relationship. Doesn't that seem balanced to you?

Perhaps you have some other idea of normal. Let's discuss.
