BEIJING (Reuters) - Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed Sunday to "appropriately deal with" the latest nuclear test by North Korea, state news agency Xinhua said.

"The two leaders agreed to stick to the goal of denuclearisation on the Korean Peninsula and keep close communication and coordination to deal with the new situation," Xinhua said in a brief dispatch.

The two were meeting on the sidelines of a summit of the BRICS group of nations in the southeastern Chinese city of Xiamen.

Actions speak louder than words. Stop selling oil to North Korea and doing business with them. Sadly, these countries don't want to do that. For a variety of reasons.

But other experts say that China will never push North Korea far enough toward the economic brink to make Kim change course on nuclear weapons. Chinese leaders want to preserve the regime in Pyongyang as a strategic buffer against U.S. influence in East Asia and avoid the chaotic collapse of a neighboring country.

China has been regularly accused of failing to fully implement previous UN resolutions. And as other nations shunned trade with North Korea in recent years, China has shown a willingness to step in to fill the gap.

If China had any intention of putting a stop to Kim's nuclear madness, they'd have done it by now.  But they can't very well go telling Kim what he can and can't have while they run off squatting on the western Pacific.   No one should be expecting any Chinese solution to this; any more than they should be expecting an as-ever-useless-UN solution to it.   Anyone who's going to then run off at the mouth about what Trump's doing about it really just wants to see the mushrooms start blooming over places like Guam, Hawaii, LA & Seattle, which would certainly please the Ameriphobes no end.  (Fortunately, Pyongyang is going to be a smoking hole before any of that happens...)

Russia?  Pfffft.  Putin?  Pathetic.  'Entering an early dotage.

Trump definitely disagrees with you about Putin.
