You clearly have not read the definition of work in the appropriate legislation.

"

*Published in the Government Gazette Vol. 95, Part 73, Special Issue, dated
21stJuly B.E. 2521 (1978)
Section 5. In this Act, "alien" means a natural person who is not of Thai nationality;
"work" means engaging in work by exerting energy or using knowledge whether or not in consideration of wages or other benefit;"

I am fully aware of the definition of work within the Alien Working (Employment) Act, which is not the appropriate legislation in this case because the OP is not being employed by anyone.

Immigration Act

Section 37 : An alien having received a temporary entry permit into the Kingdom must comply with the following :

1. Shall not engage in the occupation or temporary or employment unless authorized by the Director General. or competent official deputized by the Director General . If , in any case , there is a law concerning alien employment provided hereafter , the granting of work privileges must comply with the law concerned.

  • I see no problem with what you are doing since apparently it is not a formal education program. It would appear to most people that are just visiting your home and practicing english while there.

  • Most Immigration offices especially if you live in a small village are happy to let this sort of thing go however to avoid any issues it might be worth you going in and explaining what you are doing,

  • If one day ,,,,,you make one of the kids angry........they will  tell to the police that you are a pedo.....worse if they tell it to their parents...... You like risky things ? Keep doi

I have just removed a post attempting to start another bickering session between 2 members. Time to end it before it starts again.

Since you say you live in a small village I assume you are married to a local.  If so then surely she/member of her family could be "sitting in" during the conversations so no problem, it is just a "village gathering".

If however you are living in a small village on your own and bringing young people into your house, for what ever reason, then you are laying yourself open to all sorts of problems.

Not having a WP would be the least of them.

I wouldn't do it. All it takes is one kid who gets their nose out of joint cuz they think you're favouring another, and they lie to the folks and then you're up the creek.

To avoid any horrible accusations as the poster above mentioned you could insist that at least 1 parent is in attendance at every class

Also when you go to Immigration maybe mention that you are happy if any of the I/O kids want to come along, smooths things over even more

agree absolutely, always have another adult present when you are with the children
