600,000 migrant workers qualified to work in Thailand

BANGKOK, 5 September 2017 (NNT) - More than 600,000 migrant workers are qualified to work in the Kingdom of Thailand after undergoing a screening process.

Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Labor M.L. Boondarik Smithi revealed that 630,150 alien workers, who underwent the screening process, met the Ministry of Labor’s requirements.

At least 16,000 others did not qualify because they didn't meet the age requirements or they weren't employed before August 23rd.

Around 150,000 more workers are waiting to be screened at the Ministry of Labor before the process comes to an end on Wednesday.

Those who have already been approved will have their nationality verified. Myanmar workers can visit a nationality verification centers in six provinces including Chiang Rai, Tak, Samut Prakan, Ranong and Samut Sakhon.

Cambodians can have their nationality verified at centers in Bangkok, Rayong and Songkhla whilst Laotian workers will have to return to their home country to complete the verification process.
