90-days report - confused

Featured Replies

My 90-days report was due May 20, 2017. However, my Non-O visa based on having a Thai child expiration date was June 09, 2017.  So I did all the paperworks/forms  (including notification of house address where i'm staying) and applied for extension of stay last May 26, 2017 at Pathumtani Immigration office. They stamped my passport that my application is under consideration and  need to come back on June 26, 2017.  I did and  I was granted another 1-year extension of stay on June 26, 2017 which expires on June 09, 2018.

Question : Is my 90-days reporting based on the date I was granted extension of stay (June 26, 2017) which means I should  report before September 26, 2017?

I was told by my company's HR Officer (after they called the Immigration Office)  that my 90-days report was still due May 20, 2017 and now (Sep 12, 2017) long overdue and I have to pay a fine of 5,000 baht maximum. It doesn't makes sense at all.  Could someone enlighten me ?

Thanks.

Renewing an extension of stay does not count as a 90 day report. You should have reported 90 days after May 20th. They are two separate procedures.

The maximum fine is 5,000 baht, but they usually charge 2,000 baht for a late report.

Some offices will reset the 90 day report when the extension is done and issue a new report date, but if they didn't do that when you made the extension application you're report is overdue.

the 90 day report is fairly straight forward and easy to understand, 'once you have been in Thailand for 90 days you report' unless it is reset at extension time, by an immigration officer,  only the first yearly extension automatically counts as a 90 day report.
