$95. The first year is free. Will likely cancel it before the fee is due. I am mainly after the sign up bonus of 25000 Starwood points.

I tried, but with no US address and living in Thailand, they didn't seem to like me. LOL

Yeah, they don't like that. They also don't like it if you try and use a mail forwarder as your address.

Don't know if I am going to reach the spend level on on this card to get the bonus. So few people accept it around here. I bought some tires for my truck yesterday that would have gone a long way to the bonus. The shop had about six different terminals. He tried it in all of them. No luck. :(

If you live in Thailand, you should of course use an AMEX issued in Thailand.

Why?

Also you do not have to pay annual fees if you use the card to a large extent.

Try to find a better card in Thailand!

I think the US AMEX cards have better sign up bonuses. The problem with all AMEX products, at least up here in Lampang, is that there is no place to use the damn thing. I can use my Chase Visa card just about everywhere. Plus I get 3x points on travel and meals. Can transfer them to a bunch of different airlines and hotels. Pretty disappointed with the AMEX experience in Thailand.
