Tropical storm “Doksuri” to bring rain to North, Northeast Sept 15-16

BANGKOK: -- Tropical storm “Doksuri”, which is now over the upper South China Sea, is likely to bring rain, with torrential downpours, to the Northeast and the North on Sept 15-16, according to the Thai Meteorological Department’s forecast at 11am on Wednesday (Sept 13).

Roadside bomb defused in Narathiwat

Security officers successfully defused a roadside bomb planted under a power pole in Narathiwat’s Sungai Padi district. The bomb was believed to have been intended to be detonated as a team of defence volunteers patrolled the area in the afternoon.

Share-bike comes to Phuket Town

 

"This is the first bike sharing initiative in Thailand and it uses a mobile application to search for a bicycle on the map and uses QR code to scan and unlock the bike. Everyone can share the bikes simply by searching for it, unlocking it, enjoying it and returning it."

Phuket’s Governor chaired a meeting with Phuket City Development (PKCD), the Phuket Municipality and two bicycle companies who are sponsoring the initiative, aiming to launch the bicycle sharing project on September 20. The project hopes to help reduce the crowded traffic and parking space issues around Phuket Town.

Junta may ban red-shirt media conference on crackdown

New EC law gazetted, paving way for new members
