Six arrested in four drug searches in Satun

By The Nation

Police, troops and Interior Ministry officials joined forces to search four houses in Satun’s Khuan Ka Long district and arrested six people after drugs were found on the premises on Wednesday morning.

At the first house, the authorities arrested Aroon Inthama, 33, Narongrit Sitthichai, 26, and Wilaiwan Sitthichai, 29, after 55 meth pills were found.

They admitted that they bought the drug from a middleman for their own use and for reselling.

At the second house, Weerachai Khaoruang, 29, was arrested. The authorities found two meth pills, a 9mm pistol and .22 rifle in the house.

Veera Thanusai, 31, was arrested at the third house after 2.4 kilograms of kratom leaves were found.

The officials also arrested Kuldej Sriphet, 24, at another house after 220 bottles of controlled cough syrup were found.

The syrup was prohibited from over-the-counter sale after teenagers in the South abused it as a drug. Kuldej admitted that he had been selling the cough mixture to local teenagers.
