BANGKOK, 15 September 2017 (NNT) – The construction of royal crematorium replicas in all provinces is progressing steadily and is scheduled to finish by the middle of October.

Deputy Minister of Interior Suthee Makboon has convened with state officials in Ang Thong for a briefing on the progress of the province’s construction of a royal crematorium replica, where sandalwood flowers will be laid for His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej during the royal cremation ceremony. He was informed that the metal structure had been completed while all final touches were expected to be added before October 10.

In Chiang Rai, the structure of a royal crematorium replica is being set up at Wing Division 416, Royal Thai Air Force, in the capital district. Provincial Governor Narongsak Osottanakorn led a group of related officials in the inspection of the construction process. With the progress so far having exceeded 30 percent, the Governor voiced his confidence that construction would conclude within the set timeframe.

Trat province has also reported over 40 percent progress in its construction of a royal crematorium replica. Authorities are now in the process of installing the pointed roof, flooring and external surfaces while the decoration of surrounding areas with marigolds will begin in early October. Full completion is targeted for October 10.

In Tak, engineers and staff of the Provincial Office of Public Works and Town & Country Planning are supervising the setting up of a royal crematorium replica at the Bhimibol Dam. The finish date has been set for October 15.

As for Uthai Thani, responsible authorities have begun erecting the metal structure of the replica after materials were brought into the construction site. In the meantime, the main pillar is being kept at the provincial museum for public viewing.

Governor of Prachin Buri Suriya Amornrotworwut also followed up on the progress of the construction work at the Provincial Government Center. The replica has been completed by over 30 percent and will likely be finished as early as October 9 before a worshipping ceremony is held on October 17.
