KIRKUK, Iraq (Reuters) - A car bomb killed one person and injured ten in Kirkuk, an Iraqi oil city where local Kurdish authorities plan to hold a referendum on independence despite opposition from the central government and the region's non-Kurdish population.

SYDNEY (Reuters) - A koala survived a 16-kilometre (10-mile) road trip in Australia clinging to the axle of a four wheel drive vehicle, before the driver stopped and heard the cries of the traumatized animal.

Navy to hold international ship tech exhibition Nov 15-17

Warning of intense and heavy rainfall today until 6 am tomorrow

NIDA Poll says majority agreeing to higher tax for booze and cigarettes

As the new excise tax rates on alcoholic beverages and cigarettes are in force on Sept 16, a poll released by the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) says the majority of people it asked agreed to the tax increase.
