Visa Validity

Featured Replies

Hello!

I will be leaving for Thailand at the end of the month and I have a 90-day visa. Am I given 90-days upon entry to the Kingdom, or did the 90-days start when the visa was stamped in my passport. There is a line on the visa stating: "This visa must be utilized before: ....." that date is before my departure date from Thailand.

I really appreciate any help!

Thanks!

The key is the type of visa. If it is a tourist visa you will have a stamp when you arrive in Thailand that allows a stay of 60 days from entry date, which can normally be extended for another 30 days with payment for extension. If you have a non immigrant visa you will receive a stamp valid for 90 days stay from entry date.

The date on visa, as you read it, is a 'use by' date. You have 90 days from issue to enter Thailand. You can arrive in Thailand on day 89 and still receive the normal 60 day stay from that date on a tourist visa.

lopburi3,

Thank you for the fast response! It's a non-immi B visa, so my entire stay should be covered.

Thanks again!
