jacko45k Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 There are places that are cheap and some that are expensive, and service can be good or abysmal. People can complain about the business or the supplier, or the customer! I suppose someone struggling with a difficult property market would get fed up!
dotpoom Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Why are so many commentators, especially on television, here in Pattaya, apparantly obsessed with food?
darksidedog Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 I would like to think that bars and restaurants would treat us all like royalty, given that there are so few of us left!
reallybigken Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 What do you mean WE white man????????
Tchooptip Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 After a few hours only 5 comments... ...had he held a totally opposite discourse, complaining, dozens of comments from the professional Thai bashers connoisseurs would have been done already under a rain of likes.
Curmudgeon1 Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Love to hear a real estate agents view on economics. Clearly he ignores the indirect costs associated to pricing. Given so, it can be argued prices are too high. Imo, Pattayas' issue is that so little is done to all infrastructure to support quality tourists and it is reflected in the pricing. People are getting what they pay for, don't be fooled. I will agree that there's no room for ridiculous expectations. I always marval how those in real estate have strong business perspective, yet come from an industry that defies the standard business model.
tryasimight Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 After 10 years he still can't pronounce Pattaya correctly!
stanleycoin Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 After 10 years he still wants to eat burgers in Pattaya. Dan there is some wonderful food out there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ps. Think he could be a freelancer for TAT.
quandow Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Two years ago I had gotten fed up with all the "Thainess." I'd lived here almost 10 years and the bureaucracy was more than I could handle. So I moved to Zihuatanejo, Mexico. I was back in Thailand six weeks later. If ANYONE has had a thought to get out, I recommend they DO IT. Either way, the whinging will stop.
champers Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Advertorial and nothing more. He reeled off a list of eateries and showed his frustration at not being able to shift enough units. I hope his company is geared up to deal with the Chinese buyers who seem to be predominant just now and probably in years to come. How's his Mandarin and Cantonese?
DrTuner Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 When you expect cheap and won't pay high prices, eventually the prices will match. Pattaya is one of the cheapest cities in Thailand and that is thanks to the many cheap charlies around. Hooray for them, doing a good job keeping the place cheap! And yeah shoot the idiots who tip. Nasty 'murican import habit.

balo Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 We complain because the quality of the western food in Thailand can be a hit or a miss. It doesnt matter if its 100 baht or 499 baht for your lunch . It can still be a horrible experience because some Thais do not know how to cook western food! And that includes something as traditional as the breakfast !! If you go to a cheap pub in London you still know what you'll get on the plate! Okay ????
