Does anyone know where I can find a person who will queue for my business visa?

Yes I know I can get there by 5am and do it myself but I have a full time job.

Yes I just talked to one hence my enquiry. Despite the fact that all the paperwork is done they are asking for 20,000 Baht to get a queue and sit with me at immigration. No thank you

20k....hells bells that's a bit steep methinks!

I think it's around 6-7k for a retirement  (extension of stay) visa.

Have you tried other agencies?  There was a blog somewhere where someone said they paid just 300 baht to a guy to wait in a queue.

Maybe try the visa forum...

You really do not know anybody, an employee where you work, a co-workers wife, brother or cousin, neighbor's uni student child, your maid or butler?

Hard to imagine your boss would not understand and give you a half day off, use one of your vacation days, call in sick, make up the time on Saturday...

Now, I'm not 100% sure about this, but when I went along for my annual renewal a few weeks back it looked to me as if the guy that runs the food stall opposite Immigration Rooms 2 & 3 was saving spaces in the line for people who showed up fairly close to 8:00 when the numbers were awarded.  I thought at the time it was a smart thing for him to be doing given he's setting up early anyway.

First point here is that if you are going anytime soon and avoid a Monday, Friday or any day after a public holiday then showing up at the crack of dawn isn't necessary.  I arrived after 7:00 and was number 8 in line but actually number 2 in the queue for a marriage visa.  If you don't trust this approach, try taking a Thai speaker along and see if the food stall guy is prepared to put a bag on a seat for you.  I'd start at a couple of hundred baht...

Let us know if this works.

20K, wow that's steep. I think about 300-500 is the going rate. There was a somewhat portly couple that were offering the service for 800 and seemed to have a lot of customers when I was there a year ago. They were handing out business cards and had their facebook ID on a sign. I noticed later that day someone in one of the C.M. groups had posted their photo on facebook and when I looked at the comments on their page, there were literally dozens and dozens of people telling them what money-hungry scammers they were and that 800 was unreasonable. A couple of days later they caved in and lowered their fee to 300/person.

But you could send a cousin, neighbor, etc. to do it for you too.

Then no problem, he can give himself time off.  It is not like the world is going to come to an end if he misses half a day at work is it?

Also as Kiwi mentioned, this topic has been discussed before and answers were posted.

There is the one that   Evenstevens    is always promoting

He is looking for a "line sitter" not an agent. I think the op may have already have resolved that requirement.

Thanks for all of the advice although some is incorrect and based on retirement visas.. Most agents will not do business visas and having been there twice this week I now know why. Most agents that queue will not queue for business visas. Number 3 in the queue this morning was there at midnight. There were only 5 slots today. If you are number 6 (who arrived 05:20) come back tomorrow. Yes , I am my own boss but sometimes bosses actually have work to do.

Getting a business visa in Chiang Mai is a chore of major proportions compared to a retirement visa. Yes, I think the fruit stall owner near immigration runs a queue business too.
