DTAC dongles and micro SIM cards

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if DTAC dongles accept micro SIM cards?

I have a micro sim in my iPad, but I'm going to get a laptop and will need a dongle.

would be nice to use same sim for both.

cheers

If you have a 'Nano' SIM, it can always be placed in a 'Micro' SIM plastic carrier to adjust its size.

The metal contacts on a Standard, Mini, Micro, and Nano SIM are all the same. If you use a plastic size adapter just make sure to insert or extract the SIM very carefully so it doesn't get hung up on the phone's contact pins.

Also...

Many mobile providers offer a 'multi SIM' option that allowing one SIM to have CALLING and DATA, and additional SIMs attached to the same account to share the account's DATA Internet service.

DTAC's website states that a MultiSIM is available for POST PAID Business accounts, but may be available for POST PAID accounts in general.

Other websites have stated that you can requested the service via the DTAC Call Center.

MultiSIM activation condition

- Main number must register unlimited dtac internet package.

- In case of using 1 SIM, the monthly fee of Multi SIM is increased by   250 Baht.

Are you looking for a USB device? Or a free-standing device (pocket WiFi/MiFi) which provides a WiFi signal to multiple devices?

I would try to buy an un-branded device as it would work on any network.

If you've ever wedged a SIM adapter into a phone you'll quickly learn never to do that again.

While you can use any mobile device to create a hot-spot you will be relying on that device to act as a router, and it will have to be powered.

You can get an un-branded version of the Huawei 8372 ( E8372h-153 ) for ~ 1,800 THB - DTAC also brands this device. It takes a micro-SIM, and supports up to 10 WiFi devices. It's called a "Wingle".

It was a USB device, but it would be awesome if the iPad hotspot thing works.
