PHUKET:-- An officer from the Chalong Police who is involved in the case where a 52-year old Thai woman confessed to killing her 79-year-old German husband on Monday, has told The Phuket News today that he believes that the couple were both mentally unstable.

BANGKOK — A declaration from the central bank describing five of the nation’s largest financial institutions as “risky” should not cause alarm, according to an investment banker and the leader of the ruling junta, who weighed in Tuesday to tell everyone to calm down.

THE FIVE-YEAR jail term handed out to former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra did not surprise her supporters, who lingered to hear the verdict in front of the Supreme Court yesterday, because they claimed to have “lost faith in Thai justice” a long time ago.

THE SUPREME Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders yesterdays ruled unanimously to hand down a five-year jail sentence to fugitive former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra in absentia in the case concerning her government’s controversial rice-pledging scheme after the verdict had been delayed for one month.

Arrest warrant for Yingluck to be distributed nationwide

The Royal Thai Police will distribute warrant to police stations across the country for the arrest of former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra after the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions found her guilty of dereliction of duty concerning the controversial rice-pledging scheme and sentenced her to five years imprisonment without suspension of the jail term.
