Video: When will Thai drivers learn their lesson?

A video doing the rounds of social media shows that the story of a Thai man killed on a motorcycle the other week has not really sunk in.

The latest "unsecured load" showed a pile of steel rods sticking out perilously from the side of a pick-up going along a dual carriageway.

It could easily mean the end for a motorcyclist and certainly serious damage for another person's vehicle if not worse. Yet the driver seems oblivious to the danger.

The footage was posted by user Ussaree Watcharasakonphong on Facebook who said that the dash cam footage came from a trip along Route 36.

The story was reported on siamstations.com.

No further details were given.

Two weeks ago a 65 year old man riding pillion on a bike in Pathum Thani was killed instantly when an improperly secured PVC pipe hit him in the head.

When will Thai drivers learn their lesson?

Image result for hell freeze over

When they have to take a real test.

They will never learn,as they buy bigger trucks and cars, the situation

in my view is only deteriorating, how many times have you seen a Thai

look back ,after they have parked their vehicle,to see if they are properly

parked, road rage is also on the rise, when they cut in front of you, sound

the horn ,many of them go crazy, like it's your fault.

regards worgeordie

When hell freezes over, that's when :giggle: And I am being optimistic..

It will never happen.

That'll be NEVER then.....

Its start and ends with education & selfawareness both is not in place and this goes for not only the drivers as well those enforcing policies and laws...but if you do not carry these 2 parts then any of thoughts are useless .......it is a shame that they cannot scope even with simple base task....thai gov. Stuck in their shoes for the next generations to come

You cannot fix someone being born stupid....facepalm.gif.08cc1ddacd8b99a348630b30fcf67e68.gif

THEY Just don't have ANY Respect for other road users.....Afterall THEY DO Own the roads !!

He probably had his 500 baht fine ticket and approval to continue before this was shot.

The worse thing is that the driver seems to be aware of it as he moves to the right everytime he comes close to another vehicle!

The Transport minister and Highway Police chiefs must know that the joke of a driving test is the root cause of the country's pathetic standard of driving. Until they get their act together and set-up and enforce the sort of D test that requires every driver to be aware of others on the road - and how to reverse! - I will continue to allow a mega-safe distance between me and other traffic . . . half-a-kilometre, usually.

You don't have to be educated to understand what you are doing wrong. You just need to have a common sense.

you can find exemplary example of "intellectually challenged" everywhere on earth but thailand seems to have a very high saturation per capita % of it kina like the world capitol or mecca of it

What's the problem?  The driver stayed on the far right of the lane!   555555555555.

Why didn't the car reporting this, pull over the driver, and protect people from the drivers stupidity.

Me! Me! Me!

No policing on roads.

No fine of any serious value.

No care about others safety.

No lessons on safety.

No "Nothing".

Never.

As a brain is required to learn

They don't want to learn.. how can they reach no 1 if more people don't die on the road.

Just spend 5 mins on the road here and you will see how caring Thais are for one another life.

Maybe is not only the issue of stupid but the driver just don’t care about the safety for other road users

What is amazing is that no one sounded their horn to warn the drive that his load was dangerous. But then sounding your horn is seen as offering a challenge here.:saai:

They never will cos of low inteligence. Somebody high up should get the car registration and fine the truck owner but that will never happen. And fine will only be 500 baht. YOU JUST CANT MAKE IT UP WHAT GOES ON HERE
